Yanko Design posted these pieces from the "Shade" project created by Swedish designers Front Design Studio. He says, "Using standard silhouettes of common household items and shading them as if on paper, the designer states his intriguing designs are “like materialized illustrations.” This is what home furnishings would look like if Dr. Seuss and M.C. Escher had a child that smoked really good pot and listened to A-Ha." These are SO NEAT - thanks Yanko!
Another great find is the Love is Blind Vase by Jessica Lertvilai posted by Better Living Through Design. The stunning vase has a love letter written in braille on it's textured surface. WOW - such a wonderful and loving idea. What have you been loving on the web?
this inspires me to see my own home in pen and ink.
ReplyDeletedarn clever blogosphere to keep me inspired with seeing things in a whole new light!
You're right, Diana. These "material illustrations" are too good not to repost. Quite unique!
