Vintage Find Sunday

This Vintage Find Sunday is a mix of exploration, textiles, and discovery. The center piece is a folding chair set originally used as extra seating in a church. These chairs are great for both looks and functionality. Accenting the chair piece are hand-woven pillows I purchased in South America. While visiting Peru I went a little crazy and bought a ton of textiles - rugs, hats, bags, and more. The Peruvian textiles are very dear to my heart, and I hope to include them in future Vintage Find Sundays. The pottery bowl and bull are also from South America. In Peru these bulls are placed on top of houses for protection from evil. I have mine in the window and feel comforted by the safe vibes. And if you are going to explore you also need a vintage suitcase, stylish sunglasses, and a language guide. Here's to finding your way!

  1. This reminds me of hubby's pride and joy from Peru... a friend of ours brought him what he calls a "cool ski hat" from Peru... he loves it... says he always wanted one... well, actually he got 2... they are very pretty... but I have to say, he's so not a hat person.
    Fun to find treasures!

  11. I was wondering if anyone was going to mention Johnathan Alder. His pillows are actually inspired by Peruvian pillows - he discovered them on a trip to South America. I think he even has Peruvians make his pillows?

I try to go vintage shopping every other weekend or so. You never know what you will find. Many of my Vintage Find Sundays are items I've been collecting, and then putting them together to make a nifty photograph. I hope to settle into a cool apartment or house soon where I can really work some magic. Right now I'm sort of in a transitional apartment with all carpet...blah. Looking for some hardwood baby!
