Around the Blogosphere

The blogosphere amazes me with great ideas and stories, plus it's FREE information waiting to be absorbed! So, what's got me inspired this week?

IDEAS. Veer: The Skinny posted about The Junkyard of Art. You know those blurry and thumb-in-the-way photos that get sent to the digital discard pile? Well, Deleted Images thinks it's a shame and believes these photos should be treasured. Find the beauty in these discarded images and submit your own here.

READ. Apartment Therapy highlighted a recent article from The New York Times titled Chasing Utopia, Family Imagines No Possessions. The article is "about the voluntary simplicity movement that has young couples trading in their possessions for light living and sometimes even the freedom of the open seas." Interesting idea and really gets you thinking...do we need all this stuff?

FUN. The Inspired Room pointed out a fun picture quiz to help define your style (found via This is Glamorous). The quiz IS fun and accurate! My results said I was a Kitsch Chic, or a person always on the look-out for retro-style things that will add happiness and personality to the home. This person also loves to mix old and new to create an interior design cocktail that's easy, fun and whimsical. Yep...that pretty much sums me up! Weird huh? You know you need a break from work, go ahead and take the quiz.

    This quiz sounds fabulous! I always feel a bit schizo when it comes to my personal style. I see something I love and I'm like that is so me and then the next day I love something opposite.. maybe mine will come out eclectic :) Have a great weekend!

    I did some purging of things this week. I can only handle so much stuff, then I go bonkers. But the funny part is, I always fill it up somehow with little finds here and there. It's the cycle of my life.

    That quiz was so much fun!! Apparently I'm...classic country?? Haha...I had no idea. But then again, it says it's "the epitome of what home stands for" and reflects the "good, simple pleasures in life"...well, that's me! :)

    That quiz was very cool, and my style definition ended up as Girl Next Door, the description starting with 'Your home is quintessentially feminine. . .' That is so dead on! Guess I'm stuck being perpetually single!!!
