IDEAS. Veer: The Skinny posted about The Junkyard of Art. You know those blurry and thumb-in-the-way photos that get sent to the digital discard pile? Well, Deleted Images thinks it's a shame and believes these photos should be treasured. Find the beauty in these discarded images and submit your own here.
READ. Apartment Therapy highlighted a recent article from The New York Times titled Chasing Utopia, Family Imagines No Possessions. The article is "about the voluntary simplicity movement that has young couples trading in their possessions for light living and sometimes even the freedom of the open seas." Interesting idea and really gets you thinking...do we need all this stuff? What's got you talking? Happy Friday guys!
This quiz sounds fabulous! I always feel a bit schizo when it comes to my personal style. I see something I love and I'm like that is so me and then the next day I love something opposite.. maybe mine will come out eclectic :) Have a great weekend!

fun! I am going to check into the quiz in a few- just as soon as I get tired of working for 5 minutes and need a 15 minute break :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You've given me a lot to absorb here, and all good stuff at that. I'm definitely there on pondering the need for 'stuff,' and I'm headed over to take the quiz.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! ☺
Ohh let me know what style you were!
ReplyDeleteI did some purging of things this week. I can only handle so much stuff, then I go bonkers. But the funny part is, I always fill it up somehow with little finds here and there. It's the cycle of my life.
ReplyDeleteFrom the looks of my piles, I need to head over to AT and absorb some inspiration! Thanks for all the fab links, and wow, including me in them! It was a fun quiz, I rarely like quizzes like that!
ReplyDeleteHappy day and weekend!
Melissa

ReplyDeleteThat quiz was so much fun!! Apparently I'm...classic country?? Haha...I had no idea. But then again, it says it's "the epitome of what home stands for" and reflects the "good, simple pleasures in life"...well, that's me! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh...these picks sound so interesting. I'm off to check them out now! Thanks Diana!
ReplyDeleteI *LOVE* the deleted images idea! It sounds like something that could be a wealth of information someday!
ReplyDeleteI love the Deleted Images one. (I make those "mistakes" sometimes- http://flickr.com/photos/jutheim/2649838886/ and http://flickr.com/photos/jutheim/2692147775/ and I just love them.)
ReplyDeleteAnd I got Pick & Mix on the quiz.

That quiz was very cool, and my style definition ended up as Girl Next Door, the description starting with 'Your home is quintessentially feminine. . .' That is so dead on! Guess I'm stuck being perpetually single!!!
ReplyDeleteA riot! I'm family modern - which is a pretty accurate description, all things considered... Thanks for sharing it...
ReplyDeletemy profile says i'm city sophisticate. ok, i'm think i'm living in the wrong apartment ;)
ReplyDeletei'm looking forward to mad men and will ferrell's new movie, the step brothers.
have a great one!
Fun quiz... for me Bohemian Rhapsody... something about a glamour puss and theatrical pizzazz... maybe a drama queen... hmmmm... I do like eclectic.
ReplyDeleteI love quizzes like that. I'm City Chic, which I agree with. It says I have achieved equilibrium between past and present. Does that mean I've come to terms with my past life?
ReplyDeleteThese all look really good. I love the idea of the first one especially. I have been saving some of my not quite prefect pictures....
ReplyDeleteLast week I was fatale attraction, this week I'm classic chic. Next week????? hahah
