Artists Nolan Haan paints "portraits of cinderblock walls." He believes each wall "has a personality; each tells a story." I couldn't agree with him more. Why else would we pose the question - if these walls could talk, what would they say? Each painting does tell a story, whether it is simple, raw, humorous, or sad. I love his work, and his story is equally inspiring.
Thanks for sharing his work...I've never heard of him before, and I think his ideas are intriguing. I really like the first image you posted--the texture and color of the wall are so beautiful.
ReplyDeletethese are so cool. i love the 'you are not alone'.
ReplyDeletethanks for the comment on my blog diana. the job hunt isn't going very well. there just aren't many jobs out there & especially not in my field (buyer for hospitality and design industries). for now, i'm doing calligraphy jobs to stay busy until things pick-up again (hopefully they do). thanks for asking!
Amazing really. I have always been fascinated by artist that just are free to express without the recognition.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has tons of pictures of rail cars. They are like the cinderblock as far as telling a story.
