Melbourne based artist Robbie Rowlands explores "the stability we take for granted in everyday objects."Rowlands believes "There are certain strengths that we take for granted in our urban environment and the objects that we surround our selves with. They are stable in the sense that they take the form of mechanisms that we house, store, entertain, and contain our many physical and social processes. With time, however these objects loose their usefulness, and can no longer be trusted to hold our weight, light our paths, or stimulate us visually or emotionally."
These objects become organic and fluid versus their original design to be stable and solid...what an interesting topic to explore. Can you believe these pieces are a screen door, wooden oar, crutches, and a bathtub?!

I love the screen door. I had no idea that was a bathtub. That is amazing. Those crutches are so cool and the oar may still work.

wow - but this is going to sound really weird, but i found them almost disturbing - isn't that strange to think? maybe it comes from the fact I don't like change at all and it is changing how I have always perceived these items and its messing with their natural form or something - thanks so much for sharing!
