When asked to contribute to “Things I have learned in my life so far” Marian Bantjes wrote the phrase "If I want to explore a new direction professionally, it is helpful to try it out for myself first” in sugar. Yep - pure sugar. Bantjes made the phrase five times, photographed it, and then destroyed it and photographed the destroyed version. ReplyDeleteAt first I thought this was a wedding invitation...then I realized it wasn't...then I realized it would make a very cool invite - either photographed or done second-grade style w/ a bit of glue and sugar. Although I'm doubtful the effect would be quite so beautiful, the glue would no doubt dissolve the sugar and then I'd give someone a globular-looking sticky mess.
