Cooking got a little messy this weekend...I kid, I kid! This is actually an art installation titled Heute bleibt die Küche kalt, wir gehen in den Wienerwald by Marlene Haring. "A site-specific installation for the group show 'Egocaster' organised by Supersaat, Vienna. Freshly (at least at the beginning) cooked spaghetti overflowed from every possible receptacle in the kitchen. The title is a rhyme meaning 'Today the kitchen remains unused (cold), (and) we are going to the Vienna Woods'. Wienerwald is the the forest around the city of Vienna, as well as the name for a chicken restaurant chain in Austria."
I can only imagine the clean-up process.
Oh gosh!!! The only thing I can think of is how they are going to clean up that mess!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think of the children's book Strega Nona.
ReplyDeleteoh wow. yeah. i definitely wouldn't wanna be part of that clean up crew. spaghetti's so slippery and tricky.
ReplyDeleteinteresting concept.
I bet a bunch of little kids would have a BLAST cleaning that up. I also love how clean my kitchen looks in comparison-finally! lol
ReplyDeleteIsn't this something you've always wanted to do?
ReplyDeleteYES - how fun, but wouldn't want to clean up either!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll never complain about a dirty kitchen again!
ReplyDeletegosh... that looks like my kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteEeew! So not wanting to join in with the clean-up crew. Too messy.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do know a Little someone who would LOVE to play in a vat of noodles. Dunno why?
i am a cleaning freak...literally! And this picture makes me want to jump in and start cleaning...
ReplyDeleteUm, I just finished eating spaghetti for dinner. This is freaking me out! :-)

ReplyDeleteI have never made a mess like that in my kitchen. I have to say I feel glad about that. Wow. What a mess is right. Yikes to the clean up crew ;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! {I also love how google ads has decided that "pasta recipe" is an appropriate ad to tag to this post. :-)}
ReplyDeleteOnce you get this place cleaned up, come to my place for pie.
ReplyDeleteThat is just great! My boys would love to get in and have a play in that! A-M xx
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable! I actually gasped as I loaded the page.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a 'noodle girl' and after looking at this i wonder how much I had in my life time.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I rarely have any noodles nowadays. :)

Yikes. This is stressing me out, just imagining the cleanup process! But how fun would it have been to actually set up these shots?!
ReplyDeletei'm just glad there was no sauce or meatballs! the thought is giving me hives ;)!
ReplyDeleteI'm about this graceful in the kitchen. Scary, huh?!
ReplyDeleteWienerwald is to Germany and Austria as Crackerbarrel is to the US.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine how long it took to make all the pasta used for the installation. Hope they had an industrial kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI think this is pretty cool. Sometimes I slack on the cleaning part at my apartment- especially if a creative art project captures my mind! But this takes *that* to a whole new level. Wow! My husband and I love the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and this seems like an exhibit that a place like the MCA would feature...
ReplyDeleteYikes!!!! I can't even imagine doing this...crazy!
