Being a kid was fun and easy. But when you are a kid you don't realize that and instead you wish for grown-up things. Now that I'm an adult I WISH I didn't have grown-up responsibilities. Paying bills, going to work, taking out the trash...blah blah blah. Playing dress-up sounds way more fun. Hmm...guess I would have to work at Disney or people would think I was crazy. I'll just live vicariously through kids who get to wear these amazing costumes by
wovenplay. Kids enter a world of imagination by becoming a knight, cowgirl, pirate, butterfly, and many more cute ideas. What would you dress up as?
Oh for me it's a butterfly every time! Or a rainbow warrior... with wings. Always wings. And I clearly am crazy 'cause I throw or encourage fancy dress parties whenever possible and love to dress up. Now if I could just hand the bills, work, trash over to someone else to take care of... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the wanting to play dress up! I want to be a belly dancer in a sultan's court! Complete with figs, dates and heaps of honey and feta cheese to eat in between sessions :)
ReplyDeleteOH YUM - that sounds fun and delicious!
ReplyDeletei always get jealous of kiddie costumes~ they are so sweet {especially that cape}~ i go for the fairy wings everytime!
ReplyDeletehappy week to you:)
x ashley
oh boy, i want to be a cowgirl - yee haa!
ReplyDeletei always wanted to be punky brewster. a rocker girl sorta kinda. but pretty princess sounds fun too.
ReplyDeleteI hear you sister. Being a grown-up is not so fun, and I often wish I could trade in my adult card for a ticket back to kiddiehood. As a kid I had the most amazing cowboy and indian costumes, and loved playing dress-up in them. As an adult I think I would like an invisibility cloak, then I could wear it and walk around like a complete goof-ball if I wanted to and no one would notice.
ReplyDeleteI used to LOVE to play dress up! My grandmother had great old 40s and 50s dresses she let me use for dress up... along with FUN costume jewelry... I wish I had those dresses TODAY... I would be wearing them... they were FAB! I remember them like it was yesterday... thanks for bringing up GREAT memories!
ReplyDeletecute!!!! and i love those photos in yesterday's post. just gorgeous.
ReplyDeletehappy monday!
Anything with a long flowing skirt or cape works for me. But I do like the little knight's outfit above. How sweet.
ReplyDeleteI always liked pretending I was having adventures in my regular clothes, like the kids in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Ironic, I know.
ReplyDeleteI love that cape, though!
oh my goodness! Those are adorable!
ReplyDeleteoh the last dress is soooo cute.
ReplyDeletethat is toooo cute.
ReplyDeletenow i need to have a baby
Eeek! How precious. It's rare to find a non-Disneyfied children's costume. These are so inventive and give a kid lots of room for imagination. Great find!
ReplyDeletewith girls ages 2 and 6, dress-up is a daily scene at our house! not quite as fancy as these beauties, but it's still fun.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. And different! I like that they are totally unique designs.
ReplyDeleteThose need to be hung in a fab play room. Those are darling.
ReplyDeletethese are adorable :) i want to be a kid again!
ReplyDeletei would wear that first one :P
ReplyDeleteI definitely dont have such interesting clothing then..
ReplyDeleteI loved playing dress up! I was always either a princess, a nurse or Spiderman :)
ReplyDeletePlaying dress up does sound way more fun. Those costumes are all adorable, and I would take the tutu in heartbeat (although that knight costume is pretty adorable too!)
ReplyDeleteone of my good friends is an opera singer...but now she works in an office. so she plays dress up every day. some days she's sexy librarian. proper schoolgirl. on and on and on. it's hilarious. costumes every day...love it.
ReplyDeleteBeing here is always an adventure. My girls like to put together make-shift outfits for dress-up and dramatic play. I'll have to show them these gorgeous costumes. They'll go bonkers.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hadn't known about Do Not Leave Unattended. Oh, the riches! I feel a post coming on....
so much fun! honestly i never wanted to grow up as a child- always thought they had the better deal... the only thing i wanted to do is travel and go on adventures- hence i had to grow up. dress up, anything with a sword and a magic wand, i wanted to be something like a warrior witch.
ReplyDeletethink ill still go for that- sooooo many possibillities ;)
love the cute stuff, would def get some if i were a kid or had one
too cute!!!ahh costumes, well, I was once dressed up as a fairy(kiddo and totally unaware of what was happening)I never got the chance to try out... 'angel', with the halo and wings and all. Do you think I(the adult me) can pull it off?:P
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE The cowgirl outfit!! so cute.
ReplyDeleteDon't be fooled - you only get to dress up for work at Disney if you work in the park ;)
Great costumes - we love dress up at my house!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely, lovely, lovely!

They should make those in adult sizes!
ReplyDeleteI love these costumes! I'm a big dress-up girl----Halloween has always been my number one favourite holiday.
ReplyDeleteI'd dress as a ballerina in a tutu every day if I could!
I have been admiring woven play for a while now...oh how I would love for b to have the entire collection...xo
ReplyDeletei hear ya...
ReplyDeletei attribute my recent constant eating of peanut butter off a spoon to a subconscious attempt to return to the care-free days of my childhood.
i always want to be peter pan, all these costumes are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteYeah...I'm kind of over being an adult. :-) I'd rather dress up...as Wonder Woman.
