Love for Feet

Hello...how was your weekend? I did lots of relaxing and trying to be un-sick - thanks for all the nice comments! I'm excited to start this week off with these lovely illustrations by Jen Oaks. They make me very happy especially since I've recently been all about feet.

Why the foot fetish? Well, I signed up for Susannah Conway's creative online photography course called Unravelling: Ways Of Seeing My Self. If you are interested the next class opens up May 4th - check it out here. This past week's assignment was to photograph your feet (more of that to come!). As weird as it may sound I've been viewing feet in a whole new light. How we treat our feet, where our feet take us, and giving back to our feet. Our feet do so much, which makes seeing them in pretty patterned tights even better!

See more work by Jen Oaks on her website and Etsy shop.

  4. ADORE these drawings. And I got a tattoo on the top of my foot two weeks ago and am amazed how differently I think of my feet now. Both of 'em! Can't wait to see your photos.

  17. How exciting! Can't wait to see your new pictures. Photographing feet is a great exercise because it reminds you to look down when framing a composition. (Don't forget to look up, too!)

  33. If you havent' already seen or blogged her work, you might check out Askey. Her prints tend to have the same lovely focus on sweet footwear. I think I recently saw someone had done embroidered versions of her work. Cool stuff.
