Seaside Paint-by-Numbers

Country Style Seaside

Did you enjoy our little trip to the charming seaside cottage of Amy and Joe Keller? If so, then you will love their bedroom filled with a vintage paint-by-numbers collection. Amazing...I know! Visually enticing with pops of color, relaxing views and sea bound adventures these paintings come to life against the modern and classic furnishings.

I'm slowly building my own paint-by-numbers collection starting with this beautiful ship. Gleefully placed on my mantel I look at the painting each day and enjoy the rich colors and obsess about my own future collection. If you want to see even more paint-by-numbers madness check out my past post here!

Seaside Perfection

Seaside living meets Danish modernist in the home of photographers Amy and Joe Keller. Their South Shore, Boston cottage is the perfect balance of vintage and modern style with antiques, souvenirs and mid-20th-century furniture. Tongue-and-grove ceilings, pale wood floors and colorful vintage collections create a nostalgic feel in the Keller's new home. Neutral walls also provide a warm backdrop to the beautiful pops of turquoise blue accents. The cottage is topped off with playful accessories like driftwood, pottery and vintage metal globes. To me, this house is absolute perfection and I can only hope my future awesome lakeside retreat will be as equally charming. Stay tuned for a look inside their bedroom and a vintage collection you don't want to miss!

Air Plants

My new plant obsession is tillandsias, also known as air plants. They are affordable, easy to maintain and lovely by themselves or paired with other plants. Flora Grubb Gardens provides stunning photographs to get you air plant inspired including beautiful wedding arrangements and a web shop. By the way, the wedding decor is amazing and you can see even more fantastic photographs at Feather Love Photography. If you want to start small (like me!) then check out Tortoise Loves Donkey, an Etsy shop filled with a variety of air plants and terrariums. I can't wait to start experimenting with these little plant joys...the possibilities seem endless!

Do you like air plants? Have any ideas or tips on air plant care?

Kreme

Kreme is a design-centric wallpaper company that creates good, earth conscious design through products like wallpaper and pillows. I love the first two designs, Chains and Cut Paper Equestrian, because they are so fresh and fun. All of these wallpapers are sure to make you smile and create a statement in your home. Would you make the leap on your wall?

On a side note, today is my birthday and I am still wondering how it came up so fast. Where has this month gone?! Even though it seems to be flashing right before me, I took a moment today to be grateful for what I have and dream of a better year ahead. The one plus about birthdays (besides cake of course) is the opportunity to start fresh. So here's to a hopeful, productive, loving and thankful 28th year ahead...

Cottage Style

The long week is over and now it's time to escape into Paige Stefani's beach retreat featured in the latest issue of Cottage Style. Normally my tastes lean toward bright and vintage interiors, but it's hard to resist a cozy cottage retreat. My favorite detail is the monogrammed pillows, which proudly display their 750B beach address. It's time to step away from the initials and use this clever idea to inspire and update your next monogram project! The beautiful details combined with the relaxed furniture, neutral palette and teal exterior create a perfect weekend escape. Speaking of, I'm actually heading to the beach this weekend and I can't be more excited! I desperately need the break and I look forward to doing as little as possible. Sun, sunscreen, sleep, eat, read...yep that about covers it. Now if only I could track down a pink bike for afternoon rides...

Here's to a wonderful weekend full of sun, friends and relaxing!

Share the Sweet

Norwegian designer Maria Tovslid created Share the Sweet, an interesting series of candies, chocolates, and lollipops. Tovslid says, "Emphasising on how changing the form can add to the way one would read, interact, and consume candy. I designed these three pieces focusing on the experience of sharing, even something that is commonly not shared, like a lollipop."

The concept is original, fun and downright sweet. Doesn't candy sharing sound pretty good during this hectic week?!

A Wise Woman

"A wise woman builds her home" was a quote I read while driving past a church sign this weekend. The quote has been in my thoughts throughout Mother's Day as I remembered my Mom and all the joys and sacrifices she made for our family. My Mom truly embodied this beautiful quote because she was a special, wise woman who continually built her home and family with strength and love. She will always be loved and never forgotten for all the things she has done for our family. I hope all you wonderful Moms and your wise Moms had a Happy Mother's Day and continue to build your home with beautiful moments and people.

This week take time to enjoy the small things like these photographs of a vintage milk jug filled with floral branches...also one of the first vintage finds purchased by me and my Mom. And don't forget to give Moms a big, warm hug.

Window Whimsies

Add a little happiness to your home with these beautiful Window Whimsies by artist Ingrid Lavoie. This heirloom-to-be paper-cutting, is hand cut, in the traditional German Scherenschnitte style. They would make beautiful accents to any window or wall throughout the seasons. The hardest part is picking out your favorite!

Here's to a wonderful weekend ahead...

Test of Time

I recently had the pleasure to meet Mary Grace Thomas, owner behind Test of Time, at the Liberty Antique Festival. Not only was she a pleasure to chat with, but she also had a great booth filled with vintage goodness. You can check out her selection on Test of Time with items like vintage office supplies, fashion goods and glassware. Bright colors must be one of my weaknesses!
