I'm dusting off Please Sir and slowly returning to the blogosphere with new aspirations and inspiring ideas. I apologize for the long absence, but I needed a little transition time for my new job (yay!). I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Pearls and rhinestones beautifully blend with nickel hardware to create a perfect mix of high & low art. I'm amazed by the creative use of materials, plus these versatile pieces could easily be paired with jeans or a fancy dress.

Saskia Leek

It's a bright new year and I'm feeling inspired by the distinct color palette and subject matter created by New Zealand artist Saskia Leek. These are just two examples of her work, but we can see that through color and abstraction a discernible subject, like the home, can take on many different perspectives. Leek's contrasting pieces encourage me to experiment and change up some of my own work and outlooks this year.
