Vintage for Kids

Even kids can enjoy vintage with furniture and objects from Bianca and Family. They restore and personalize old school desks, chairs, and vintage pieces of furniture found throughout France and Europe. I'll admit it...these may be for wee ones, but I would still love these objects in my home. Like the bunny lamp...so cute and fun!

On a side note, BIG THANKS to Abbey for doing a special feature on Please Sir on her inspiring blog Abbey Goes Design Scouting. Her must-read blog always keeps me excited with the latest design ideas. Also another BIG THANKS to the talented Fifi Flowers for sending over an amazing set of whimsical notecards - check out her entire selection here. Thanks for all your support!

Sculpting Fashion

I'm glad I checked out the front page of Etsy today because I stumbled upon Emily Ryan's shop. Emily Ryan is an independent designer located in Portland, Oregon. Her clothing pieces have an amazing architectural feel that she describes as "modern sculptural designs" which "explore texture and shape." They are fresh and unique while still being comfy and stylish. This is one shop I'll be checking back with...the Fall/Winter collection will be up in the next couple of weeks!

Head Above Water

The underwater photos by Narelle Autio are breathtaking...literally and figuratively. Don't they evoke an emotional response to hold or catch your breath? The photos also emulate my recent emotions of up and down stress. Most days I feel like I'm trying to keep my head above water! On the flip side when I get stressed I like to take a minute and visualize a happy place. I know...a bit corny, a bit zen...but it helps. One of my happy places involves a jump into a cool lake. I visualize myself running off the dock and then jump high in the air and splash into the water...a refreshing rush of excitement. Must be the kid in me.

Are you keeping your head above water these days? Where do you go to escape?

Oh...and isn't the shark tattoo a perfect detail to the photo? They also remind me of dream sequence screenshots in a movie...amazing.

Simple Pleasures

I love every little object on Billet. The site is in Japanese, but looks like Billet is a magazine and online store. The magazine looks really good, and they sell a variety of objects from simple and functional housewares to lovely and decorative fashions. Even items for the holiday season! Don't you feel tempted to buy it all...I wonder if they ship internationally? Must get out my international currency converter too...

Lake

I want to share with you the lake I cross over during my morning and evening commute. For me, the lake is a daily reminder of the natural beauty and activity taking place each season. How the leaves change, the birds swim, the water moves, and the fog lifts. As much as I dread going to work I love seeing the lake...like taking a deep breath each day. Do you have a special site or place you enjoy?

The fall season was beautiful this year and one evening after work I was lucky enough to catch the leaves in action. I love the contrast of fire reds and oranges against the cool blue of the lake. Then the sun began to set creating sparkles along the water ripples. Oh lake house...where are you?

On a side note, the yard sale was great...even in my sickness. Thanks for all your well wishes - hope you had a great weekend!

Inspiring Interiors

Hello quaint kitchen. Hello pretty mugs. Oh yes, hi lovely little library. Hello amazing studio space. And I couldn't forget you distressed and perfect staircase...yes you, hello there. This is how I greeted each image as I browsed deeper into Light Locations, where I also found the apartment on Lavender Hill. I literally said hello to each amazing image. Am I going delirious? Could be the antibiotics talking, which I'm taking due to a cold/ear ache (and sucks btw) or maybe it's the warm chai tea talking? Either way...these are inspiring interiors just waiting for me to move in.

Ugh...I really want to leave work, go home, snuggle in bed and watch cheesy daytime TV. Is that so wrong? To lounging in comfy pajamas and fluffy blankets this weekend. Happy Weekend!

Felt Drawings

It's a cold and chilly Friday here, but hey...at least it is Friday right? It's going to be a hectic weekend for me because we are FINALLY having our yard sale....in the cold...and rain. Crossing fingers for dedicated shoppers to arrive and buy it all. On another note, I'm enjoying the look of these felt drawings by Crystal Liu. Felt is one of my favorite materials to play with. The beautiful material is a great substance for sculpting and experimenting. Have you used it before?
