Folded In Place

Traveling is a joy and luxury I fully enjoy. Experiencing new places has taught me so much about myself and the world. Lessons I would have never learned otherwise. Everyday my thoughts wander to past journeys and future destination spots. If only there was unlimited vacation and money to travel all the time.

John Mann, a contender for Hey, Hot Shot!, beautifully portrays travel photography with his series titled Folded In Place. Mann says, "the series finds its exploration of place though a visualization of the map as the final destination." The thoughtfully photographed works illustrate those feelings at the beginning and end of a journey...in both situations you are still finding your way.

His work is beautiful - and I agree with Jess, when I am a mega rich gazillionaire I will spend all my money on travel & candy.

i'd say i'm more of an armchair traveler and use living in nyc as my excuse for it to be ok. i like these, but that camera/printer on the side bar is the cat's pajamas. i want one!

Beautiful images. Travel is a never ending process, and everytime I step into a new place, it opens up a whole new world. Maybe you will travel to this side of the pond one day ;p

These are very clever. I too love traveling and feel very grateful that I have been able to live in a number of different countries and learn how interesting life can be.

Travelling is such a privilege. I can completely relate to your sentiment. Lovely link. I've always found maps so cool in terms of design.
