The Art of Knitting by Francoise Tellier-Loumagne is a wonderful book with inspirational stitches, textures, and surfaces. The book is filled with amazing photographs and chapters on sumptuous yarns, creative stitches, hand knitting, machine knitting and more. "The author encourages the reader to be innovative and to experiment with the various techniques, drawing inspiration from the natural world and one's personal surroundings: pebbles on the sand, autumn leaves, snow sparkling in the sun, weeds and grasses bending in the wind. Every type of stitch that she describes is accompanied by enlarged photos of the textiles, detailed diagrams, and written instructions" (via Amazon). A great book for avid knitters and artists looking for daily inspiration.

This looks like a great book. I just learned how to purl tonight, so I'm anxious to learn different patterns and move on!
