The drawings by California-based artist Tara Tucker are amazing. The press release from osp gallery states, "Tucker's drawings explore animals morphing into hybrid forms. Her creatures merge with flora in a surreal evolution that will enable them to survive both environmental change and human intervention. The drawings are meticulously rendered and zoologically accurate."
Tucker's mother was a taxidermist at a museum of natural history and her stepfather was a dealer of rare orchids. By assisting her parents Tucker acquired her knowledge of animal morphology, but the real power is in her ability to create emotions in each creature. Wow...very inspiring...can you imagine being her as a child?!
