Winter Sales

If you've been following Please Sir on Twitter, you'll know that I borrowed the nice camera from work last night - a Nikon D70 DSLR. I've been craving to purchase a DSLR camera, and I am now convinced. Loooovvvveee it. My normal digital camera doesn't compare. I'm not sure which one to get - any suggestions? Do I feel a Canon vs. Nikon debate?

Ok, try to calm down after all the sexy camera talk. Back to the post - winter sales! This is the time to pick up all your winter needs for next year. Even though it might be 70 degrees out and you can't even think of wearing a sweater...you might be kicking yourself next winter. I picked up this geometric pattern trench coat for half off...DEAL! I might be wearing it in the heat because I love it.

I wanted to try my hand at styling work with the nice camera...here I go again with my second life. Grabbed my vintage body form, silkscreen frames, black heels, and super sale jacket and went to town in my doorway. I felt like I was working on a cool photo shot for Anthropologie...it was very amusing.

So, don't forget to check out your local winter sales and digital camera sales while you are at it.

Hi, Diana, that looks like fun with the styling! Thanks for stopping by to see me. I know those SLR cameras are just great, some of my friends have them, but I've never tried one out. I'm sure they are so much more artistic than the regular digicams, but I don't have one either.

Hope you'll come back by!

Oooh, how fun! I have much more of an appreciation for stylists now because I know how difficult it can be to get the right shot from the best angle. Love that jacket, by the way.

In terms of cameras, I have a Nikon D40 DSLR and I absolutely love it. It's my first DSLR so I was looking for an entry level version. I originally wanted the D70 but apparently they discontinued it. The Canon equivalent (Rebel XT) was great too but I found the colors to be more true to life (even when adjusting the white balance) on the Nikon. Of course you can tweak anything in photoshop though. Good luck camera shopping!

The coat is wonderful! I never think of shopping seasons before, which explains why I never get anything on sale. Oh and I think your blog is terrific...I will be back!

So fun. My photography is terrible, I have no clue what I'm doing and all my photos are a bit blurry. Unintentionally blurry! Speaking of you second life post, that's one of my desires, take classes, so I can take better pictures! Like I don't have enough things pulling me every which way already.

Thank you for the comment on my blog. :)
