Artists Nolan Haan paints "portraits of cinderblock walls." He believes each wall "has a personality; each tells a story." I couldn't agree with him more. Why else would we pose the question - if these walls could talk, what would they say? Each painting does tell a story, whether it is simple, raw, humorous, or sad. I love his work, and his story is equally inspiring.

Thanks for sharing his work...I've never heard of him before, and I think his ideas are intriguing. I really like the first image you posted--the texture and color of the wall are so beautiful.
these are so cool. i love the 'you are not alone'.
thanks for the comment on my blog diana. the job hunt isn't going very well. there just aren't many jobs out there & especially not in my field (buyer for hospitality and design industries). for now, i'm doing calligraphy jobs to stay busy until things pick-up again (hopefully they do). thanks for asking!
Amazing really. I have always been fascinated by artist that just are free to express without the recognition.
My husband has tons of pictures of rail cars. They are like the cinderblock as far as telling a story.
i LOVE this. what an amazing concept.
I love this idea! It's always refreshing to see artists branch out into new & unusual mediums. Thanks for sharing. Also, thanks for stopping by my blog. I love yours!
I'm linking it on mine...hope you don't mind. :)
Our home is built of cinder block and these are so cool! Now I will look at them in a new way!
rad concept!
Amazing work!
OMG...I just read the entire article. I cannot believe he floated the house up the river after winning the bid for -$50,000!!! That's a great story indeed! Thanks for sharing! :)
i usually hate graffiti but these are pretty cool. and great story -- thanks for sharing, diana! :)

Very cool. (For some reason I can't at the moment open the page to read his story, but will try again later.) Thanks for sharing another wonderful artist with us!
I luv urban art ! Come to my blog !
Yes, the art does feel very urban and I love it. I'm so amazed at the creativity out there. Not sure about the graffit part, but that first one is so beautiful!
I've known Nolan for years and have watched him progress from excellence to total unequalled brilliance and artistic mastery of portraiture.
This is an artist to keep BOTH eyes on!
