Makes Me Happy

These Lettering Sketchbooks by Linzie Hunter are pure delight...they make me so happy. I want to get out my old felt tip pens, draw in my sketchbook, and then do a little dance. My happiness could also be because it's FRIDAY!

I'm also having some early morning thoughts:

1. Maintenance people are painting the hallway outside my cube. I feel an urge to paint walls instead of do real job work.

2. Is it worth $22 to see The Dead Sea Scrolls this weekend?

3. Has it really all been done before?

4. Swedish fish are awesome.

As you can see, my thought span is quite sporadic this morning...like I said, at least it's Friday. What's on your mind?

P.S. i love that you ask "has it really all been done before" -- that's probably one of the most asked question for any one in a creative field. it can really be haunting sometimes.

Happy Friday Diana! Boy do I love red swedish fish!
One of the thoughts that bothers me most is that there is no such thing as original anymore- but when I come across something really cool I have to think it's never been done.

You are all over the place...I love that! Those sketchbooks are so fun. It would be a nice change of pace to just be able to get up and paint or go to studio again, wouldn't it? I'm with ya.

Ahhhhhhh!!!! These are AWESOME!

Let's see. The Tall Ships are in town this weekend and I saw the masts from the end of our street - and so that's going to be exciting. I'm anxious to hear my husband make his first cuts on the wood parts for his chair business (he's got today off while I sit here reading blogs...I mean, working). I'm thinking about getting my eyebrows waxed. And possibly a pedicure.

That's about it. Pretty much, I'd like to win the lottery so I can do what I want, when. :)

I love these lettering books! And yes to question 2, if you like lettering and old stuff that is supposedly important, I'd pay the $22.
In answer to question 3, yes from what I hear. but it hasn't been done the way YOU'RE going do it.

i LOVE those sketchbooks! regarding question no.3 : when i was a teenager i worried that "they" would run out of new music. it hasn't happened yet as there's always some new kind of interpretation. i think "pure new" is probably harder to come up with now though, but it's possible. and, i often learn about it on your blog!

I can't get the weekend out of my head and my excitement of the potential week off next week. But then I get bogged down thinking about doctors and dentist apts I should really get on top of and that just kills it.

SO I think it's true that everything has been done before to some extent but maybe at the end of the day it's not what you do but how you do it and who it touches?

On 1 & 4...

1. My office is being painted this weekend and I really want to try and bribe someone to paint it a fun yellow or green...but I'm afraid I'm getting the standard white like everyone else :(

4. YES they are!

I love this too!! very inspiring and I love colours!! I wanted to repaint a few of the rooms at home..so this gave me an idea. Before we repaint, we'll give the kiddies some crayons or pens and let them draw whatever they want..I'll join in too. You are a very inspiring blogger, bet you know that too :)
