The illustrations and art by Dave Barnes "involves the practice of transforming modern concept to reveal nostalgic mood." Barnes uses "recycled elements, faded colours, layered/collaged backgrounds, and sand~papered imagery" to create his fantastic work. The imagery and colors are amazing.
On a side note, I'm a little nervous...going in for extensive dentist work today. I'm getting porcelain veneers to improve my smile. My teeth aren't that bad, but the veneers will make a drastic change to fix my gap and uneven teeth. A hefty purchase, but a procedure I've always wanted and seriously obsessed over...just ask my Mom! I kept thinking it was never going to happen, and now that it is...I'm excited and nerve racked. To some it may seem like a frivolous concern, but if it something you research, save, ponder, save more, and feel good about...then I think it is worth the cost and nerves. Has anyone ever gotten veneers?!

Love this technique, and, oh, good luck at the dentist, my dear!
You know I've gone the Invisalign route and second guessed it as something I really didn't need to do, but that one stubborn little tooth has been forced into submission! You've been thinking about this for a while and have saved and planned, so full speed ahead! Are they doing everything at once today? I hope you won't be too uncomfortable, but even so it's all going to be worth it. Good luck!
love that bottom image!
good luck at the dentist today. I have not had veneers, but I know how much they can change a smile :)
Wow, I love his work!
ps I've presented you with a teeny award on my blog :)
His work really brings you in, doesn't it?
I'm sending you three wishes for comfort, serenity, and soon, a smile from ear to ear.....

Great artwork! And best of luck with your trip to the dentist!! Bring your ipod! :)
Good luck with the work, I probably need some of those!
Oh Diana, I completely understand what you are feeling. I haven't gotten veneers, but I too have to have some major dental work done in the next couple of weeks, and I'm dreading it. I applaud you doing something for yourself! It will turn out great and I just know you will be so happy once it is all over with and you have this wonderful new smile. I'll be thinking of you. :)
OMG! I completely forgot to comment on the art work....It is more than great! Something a little different which is always a welcome surprise.
Impressive works. I love the last one.
Good luck at the dentist. Veneers are really nice.
I am so happy for you!!! Please post your new lovely smile when you're home and feeling well enough to do so. If it's something that makes you happy and feel good about yourself, more power to you! xx
Very cool prints. I love reading about the concepts behind them. And good for you! That's so exciting! I'm really happy for you:)
Good luck at the dentist!
love his work! good luck at the dentist!
I will sooooo be back to show my husband the plane with the bird. He hit a red tailed hawk in California that nearly killed him.
Hate the dentist. I would hold your hand if I could out of kindred spirits dreading the inevitable because good teeth and a good smile are worth it!
Veneers--- eek! I've never, but let me know how it goes! :)
the prints are wonderful! as far as the dentist...i've spend extensive time with my dentist, all I can say is bless your heart! let your mind wander, and before you know it, you'll be back home! good luck!
The two teeth on either side of my front ones are both veneers. They look and feel just like real teeth and my smile looks a lot better than it did without them...I'm sure you'll be pleased :)
I'm positive that you will be THRILLED you did it! My mother has a few teeth with veneers and they are just like normal teefers :)
By the way, these are GREAT illustrations! I love the squirrel at the top!
my mom got veneers, and it made a LOT of difference. her teeth before were not as substantial, and she was not very confident at all whenever she's smile or talk. but now she's very confident and now smiles showing her teeth. they also look very natural.
good luck with the dentist trip girl!
which reminds me, i have to go to one too. eeeeep!
i love those illustrations, they are beautiful.
good luck at the dentist - you will be just fine! a good friend of mine has veneers - she loves them.
Oh, good for you. I am sure they will look great. I know how you feel. I broke my nose a couple of times when I was young, and finally was able to get the damage fixed. I saved and obsessed and was terrified about what my new nose would look like. It was well worth the anxiety. Funny thing is no one know about it but me. It just makes me feel so much better about myself. Now if only I could lose some weight : )
I am sure you will look beautiful!
GOOD luck! I'm sure all will go great and you'll be pleased with the results. Hey, if everyone in Hollywood does it, it can't be that bad, right? ;)
Love that type of illustrations and art!
Lucky you! The porcelain veneers are going to look beautiful! :)
amazing Mr. Barnes! Oh and you know ;you should really do a before and after shot of your pearlies don't you? Good Luck!

Those illustrations by Dave Barnes are quite something! I love popping in here to discover such wonderful things! All the best for your dentist appointment. Sounds like it will be a worthwhile procedure. You'll be beaming happily after. Perhaps not immediately after ;)
Great illustrations - I love the concept behind them.
Good luck at the dentist! I'm sure it'll all be fine and I don't think investing in yourself is a frivolous purchase at all!
Wonderful work!
Hope the dentist went well! I think it's wonderful that you are finally doing something that you have wanted for so long! I am sure your smile will be razzel-dazzel
beautiful!
I did the same thing and it was the best thing I ever did for myself -- good luck!!!
My dentist gives me a script for xanax - I am in no way promoting drug use, but I had veneers on all my front teeth to the molars, and this helped tremendously. I have to say I'm a total wimp when it comes to the dentist.
Also - veneers are fantastic! It changed my life for the better - now I actually smile wide! think of that and good luck!
beautiful art and illustrations! hope the dentist goes (or went) well!
