Granulation

The jewelry designs by Stefanie Condes are impeccable in quality and taste. I saw her work on DesignSpotter where they said, "The granulation technique is a way of attaching small beads to a surface which means that the beads will always align with the surface. [Condes] wanted to think of a way that didn't require the beads to have a surface to attach to, but make it so that they could form a shape by themselves."

Condes uses SLS (selective laser sintering) for her polyamide and alumide jewels. I have no clue what that means, but I do know her work is amazing. Not only are these pieces elegant, but they also remind me of dippin' dots ice cream...am I crossing the line? Oh c'mon they do a little!

These are gorgeous! I'm completely out of the loop on dippin' dots, but I agree with Cindy's comment about these looking like sugar. Beautiful!

Yes - I thought of the sugar words too! I seem to go back and forth with really colorful things and all white!

They remind me of the little white sugars on nonpareil candies.
Very pretty and delicate.

Oh wow, how beautiful. At first I thought the necklace was a large-scale garland. How smashing would that look at a wedding reception?

dippin dots! you are funny. what if that's the name of her next installation?!

in other news, i felt compelled to comment on every posting i've missed. two crashed. two made it. which means i've been at your house for, like, thirty minutes.

and i didn't mind. one. bit.

These are amazing. It's difficult, I think, to be truly innovative in jewelry. It's amazing to see someone do that so well.

I like your disclosure on the jargons. :)

I didn't realised they are 'wearables'. They will grab some attention, wouldn't they? I guess I wouldn't be wearing them if I had them. Probably framed them and show them off somewhere.

wow, these are amazing-- i think they would make amazing hanging lamps, too, if they were larger. can't you just see one hanging in a living room?
