It's pouring rain outside and all I want to do is snuggle up in one of these forts. The Fort photographic series, by Amir H. Fallah, consist of collaborative forts created with male friends in their home. Each fort was built in under two hours. All materials for the forts were found on location and no aspect of the fort was preplanned.
Building a fort sounds way cooler than being at work.

I'd much rather be hanging out in one of these than working, too! Alas, we must forge ahead . . .
I know, I know....blahh to work!
Childhood memories come to life when looking at these! I remember making "forts" and sitting in them reading or playing board games. Hi-tech kids of today do not know what they are missing.
Oh my that first one looks perfect, I'd love to hide out with a good book there!
Oh wow! Who doesn't love a great fort!
LOL way more cool, yes, indeed. :P
Corners of my home have looked like this many many times. I miss those fort days. Thanks for the reminder of such fond memories.
It is impressive how they used what they had.
Amen to that! Those are really rad.
i loved making forts. and yes. beds, pillows, chairs...beware...you are the next wall or hallway or holder of sheets or blankets.
haha! Adam and I make forts :) They are so much fun!! What a great series..
Ha! You find the most fun things. My brothers use to make forts around their bunk beds. Then their GI Joes would hold my Barbie dolls hostage.
Crazy!
the reason for my living comments? I think you post some of the most amazing things! I cannot get enough of the stuff!
Yes, Perth is an 'interesting' place. It's a small city but there are more millionaires per capita than any other cities in the world I heard. I am not one of them certainly. Still I would love to live in the States one day.. I am a big fan of online shopping and we don't get that here in Australia. :P
ooops.. I thought I should be able to follow you in twitter as I saw a link in your blog but realised that it wasn't linked to your twitter page as such... i might have sent you an invitation by mistake.. you could ignore that or you could let me 'follow you' if you like. :)
And they're off....!
My kids are busy building their fort! They build them outdoors all the time but usually reserve indoor forts for the winter. Saw your post, turned to each other with wide-eyed wonder, and said, "We could build an inside fort...RIGHT NOW!"
Genius! Dont show my kids:)
Reminds me of my kids and my M-I-L... when they were younger they would go to visit her and she would let them take all the cushions off her couch and give them blankets and towels, etc to build big forts in her livingroom. I would have to remind them that THIS TENT BUILDING is ONLY HERE! I guess I'm a mean mom... NO TENTS in my house! LOL
This is brilliant:) Takes me back about 20 years - ahhhhhh.....
Reminds me when I was a kid!! :)
somehow, my forts as a child never looked this stylish!
whatzaa! That's pretty much what my 3 year old does every day....and in less than 2 hrs. Take that Amir H. Fallah...Nonetheless, they are so cozy looking.
i LOVE THESE! my girls are just starting to build forts; i can't wait to show these pictures to them!
What a cool collection of photos!
These are somehow much more interesting than the forts I made as a child... I think I will blame that on my parents' lack of interesting textiles to choose from.
i want to make a fort when i go back to work tomorrow! they'll love it ;).
Haha - looks like we are all ready for some fort building now!
Spectacular!!
These are so much fun! I love to build forts, but alas haven't done so since the kids were little. I think the next rainy day that comes along, I will build one for me and the dog! Also, I want that yellow/orange chair in the top picture!)
ahhh...fort building!! used to love building these as a kid! we once converted my friend's entire basement into a fort - of course that took some pre-planning as she didn't have enough sheets and blankets in her house to do the job!!
Boy does this bring back memories of making homes within the house in my childhood. The perfect rainy day activity. I only wish I had some photos of those creations!
Perfection. On so many levels! I just posted on Kirtsy...
WHY did I never think of stacking chairs in my forts? Lovely!
Oh, to be a kid again! Awesome!
Anne
These are awesome!!! Sorry I've been MIA -- writing the paper from hell. xoxo Abbey
I looked at the first pic and had a shock..thought you sneaked into my bedroom and took a photo...NO, just kidding, cool pic anyway :D
wow - what a cool project!
This is brilliant! I love the unplanned bit.
I don't know if you've seen The Holiday, but these totally remind me of the fort Jude Law's daughters in the movie created. Love them!!!!
ooooh...i remember the fort building days. maybe i'll revisit that. so much fun. :-) but mine weren't nearly as stylish as these. i'm talkin' cushions from the couch strategically placed or a few kitchen chairs with a sheet draped over, ha ha!
I keep telling my bf that we should build a fort, but we never get around to it. I feel inspired :P
these are fun. takes me back to being a kid. all my twin sister and i ever did growing up was build cool forts in our bedroom or the living room. maybe that is where our passion for interior design all began. :)
LOVE! This reminds me so much of being a kid! We had a big sectional couch and would make the most fun forts with it.
This is absolutely the coolest.
Thanks for sharing this... those forts manmade look wonderful.
This is soooo cool! OMG, I feel like making one in my offcie right now! :)
how fun is that!
Sooo much fun!! I could totally curl up in one of these right now :)
