Afternoon Tea

Claire Coles offers a new approach to stitching on porcelain tea sets, vintage wallpaper, and illustrations. One of my favorite explorations is her collection of stitched tea cups. These sets were created to "evoke a reminiscence to times forgotten, exploring the loss of the British tradition 'afternoon tea'."

The use of traditional textiles in a new and clever way always makes me excited. These pieces are beautiful - the details, the concept - love it! Be sure to check out Claire Coles Design for more amazing work including wallpaper and illustrations.

The "Love Me" cup is so vulnerable... I'd like to bust that out next time the hubby and I get into a tiff.

Oh Diana, I just went through her website and I'm so impressed. I love her work, especially the wallpaper. I've been trying to figure out how to customize wallpaper to suit my tastes or to introduce a theme to our bedroom, and this gave me some good ideas. Thanks for sharing!
