Starting to feel more alive after viewing the amazing work by Jacob Magraw. His paintings remind me of a three dimensional topographic map...each colorful layer building onto one another. They also have a "everything is connected" type of feeling. The natural and bodily formations seem familiar and somehow connected. Like the similar characteristics between tree roots and blood veins...such an interesting correlation. Do you get the same feelings - or am I still cracked out from the weekend?

i couldn't have said it better ;)! i really love the color palette, the cream paper really brings it all together beautifully.
Very interesting. The colors are really beautiful and the shapes so organic. Nice find.
i don't think you're cracked out from the long weekend. when i look at these paintings, the word "harmony" comes to mind.
Hi there!
I agree what "josephine" said... harmony is the word. I love the soft color mixtures. It really fits to our fall season.
Just look at the mushroom, feels am in the woods picking them up.
Enjoy your day ahead!
greetings from sunny Stockholm,
//chie
I also see almost human-like qualities in them. Arms, hands, etc. Very cool!
you may be cracked out from the weekend {i may steal this phrase, by the way! it's apropos.}...
but your taste is nothing short of perfect, as always. these are dreamy.
glad you had a nice time. i am so addicted to that pollen art thingie you posted last week. grrr.
wow!! these remind me of those cool multi-color koh-i-noor magic pencils, melted down and resculptured. they're the exact same colors.
Love your selections! I totally see the topographic connection.
Aimee - YES - I totally see that!
Really pretty colors.
I'm thinking ligaments and tissues.....hmmmm
What interesting artwork!
I like it!....very different.
Best Regards,
MIMILEE.....<><
I see it... although I don't like the colors he uses... but I still appreciate the beauty!
Wonderful post, I love "connected". I do get the feeling from these still life, I like the second one, looks like ears, listening.
I totally get it! It's amazing isn't it? I love these prints!
beautiful? yes...cracked out? no.
hehe...yeah I get the same feelings. So you're not all cracked out from your weekend (what a funny little expression!)
ooooooooooh........ love the color combos! it's always so interesting to me the way that different people combine colors!
this is amazing Diana, thanks for sharing.
very interesting. i don't have a keen eye...so didn't see "that", but after reading your comment I think you were spot on.
Yes, I totally see it. Especially in the middle painting. I see roots, exotic florals, veins and arteries, lungs... Quite exquisite.
Interesting pictures, I'll be honest..i starred at it for a long time..but still no connection, must be the holiday-hangover I had, brain's not functioning so well. It happens to me at times, holiday or not hahaha..
They are so nice.I love the colors. Just what I'm currently feeling right now, a little floating, bright, alive, and happy.
remind me more of Dali's dream scapes. That tells something doesn't it? I haven't quite recovered from my crazy weekend of nothing exciting.
Yes, totally lovely!
I see it, but to me, the one with the mushroom speaks loudest.
You are too funny. I love these, especially the colors.
I love the bottom painting of the mushroom. Looking at it I can almost feel it growing in front of me!
LOVE! So beautiful!

Wonderful description! Such beautiful colors in these works!
I adore anything with, as I called as a child, "swirly colors." These are beautiful..love the mushroom.
