School Days

I've been thinking about book carts ever since I saw the Smith System Book Cart in ReadyMade magazine. Modern School Supplies carries a variety of fun colored book carts perfect for a bookcase, kid room, or studio. I would love to find a vintage library book cart with metal casters...must keep my eye out. The mobile cafeteria table with stools is pretty neat too. Maybe I'm stretching it...but I could imagine sitting at the table for dinner in a large loft, and then folding it up for a dance party!

I have always loved school equipment and the lines of them. But I did not like their hot lunches.

i liked our lunches. they were actually very good. and to think what we paid for them? wow. i would love to get a meal for that price.

I love the idea of the cafeteria table being used outside on my patio for late night dining and easy clean up!

I love the book cart with the compartments in the top. I'm always checking out flea markets and antique stores, but have yet to come across something like this!

these are very cool! it's interesting how institutional fixtures take on a different look once they're out of the school environment. in the classroom those rolling carts just blend in with the background, but in a kid's bedroom they suddenly become the focal point of the room.

believe it or not, it still only costs $2.10 for my daughter to buy lunch at school.

believe it or not, i just saw a metal book cart/table at the second-hand store this last Sunday.
it was one that had only two shelfs, and the top shelf had those folding leaves on either side to make it into a table.

i stared at it for a minute or two thinking, "hmmm . . . what could i use that for?"

then the sound of my husband saying "are you crazy?" brought me back to reality!

Wow, love it!! School days furniture takes me back. I loved those individual school desks where the top flips up and you had your own personal locker underneath.

Man, that mobile table and chairs are awesome.

btw,, how's sitemeter? I found it pretty average so I changed to Google Analytics. It's much much better..
