Holidays, what?! Isn't it happening so fast? I do enjoy the holiday season, but I never feel quite ready for it. My approach is to stay in denial about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. But, I know some of you clever and productive readers are already getting their holiday decorating on...so here are a few quick ideas. Even the wait-to-the-last-minute-family-coming-over-in-an-hour-for-holiday-dinner people can pull these off...speaking from experience of course. Check out the Five-Minute Holiday Decorating Ideas at Real Simple. I love that these tips utilize everyday objects and are charming, not overly holiday cheesed out. Don't you think the mittens are a cute touch?
Do you decorate for the holidays? Got any simple ideas or tips?

Love it and love it. Most holiday decor makes me feel like my brain is melting, but this? This makes me feel calm and celebratory and kind of like I live inside a Real Simple magazine. And isn't that how we all want to feel, all the time? ;)
These are great ideas, and l love how easy they are! Thanks for sharing, I will be trying some out, (after Thanksgiving!)
my tip, is to eat as much chocolate as you can, and not worry about it until after new year's. ;-)
Beautiful images! I love the mittens. I have the new Real Simple and haven't had time to open it...sounds as if I may find some great ideas inside!
We don't really decorate because it's just the two of us and the cats...maybe if we entertained...I love these images, tho!
oo so pretty...hmm..i always put out pinecones and fresh walnuts and little beaded snowflakes and then we always put some twinkly white lights around the window sills. And maybe this year it would be fun to cut out some little snowflakes. Other than that we don't decorate until the week before Christmas!
This is wonderful. I too go into denial and then wake up to it all. I have a tip for after you get all those holiday cards. I cut them up and use them for gift tags (use a hole punch and some string ribbon or yarn to "hang"). It's a great way to create unique tags and recycle cards.
these are so so cute! :)
The mittens are my favorite...so simple and yet it brings a HUGE smile to my face!!
yeah, i like the mittens as well as the stair case decorations.
i don't decorate, but growing up i always enjoyed the beginnings of getting everything all prettied up on thanksgiving night.
I always try to keep the lights to the min.
and incroporate other colors besides the traditional ones (red and green)
I like the staircase. I have beautiful large mercury ornaments I usually hang in the windows or off a chandelier. This year I think I'll try hanging them off the stairs.
gorgeous colours! love the ribbons, so fun.
thanks for visiting my little blog,I absolutely adore your blog and read it everyday, I LOVE all your vintage finds as well!
fun!
i like to hang ornaments from light fixtures.
i also like to put them in pretty glass bowls.
those are lovely photos. i love the idea of simple holiday decorations that are so festive-- mittens, pinecones, etc.
I like to put a small Christmas tree in my bedroom. It's so nice to go to sleep with the lights softly glowing.
I love all of these simple finds- I'm all about keeping it simple!
Love the photos!
I really love the green wreath on the green door---it's so simple and alive looking.
In past years the tree has been the center of our holiday decorations, but I'm considering not doing one this year to save money...which means I will be using some serious creativity to spruce the place up! Some great ideas here for sure...
These are beautiful ideas -- I was just thinking the other how I'd like to get glass jars and fill them with pinecones :)
i love these images, but i'm not ready yet. thanksgiving is stressing me out!
Love the red mittens on the mantle!
I love Real Simple's ideas! I use ornaments to decorate -- in tall glass vases all over the house with different color combinations or patterns inside one.
So simple yet festive. My favorites are the mittens and staircase. Use what you have and don't break the bank---holiday decorating---that's my style too!
These are super cute. Good for a small apartment. I am buying my first christmas tree soon and am having only silver decorations on it this year..
thanks for sharing the simple ideas....i really want to simplify this year
I need to buy myself a pair of mittens on a string! Good holiday reminder, thanks XOXO
i usually don't decorate, but those mittens on strings might cause me to change my mind!
great ideas here!!! iam hopeless with decorating, but these looks real fun :)
If I manage to actually get my act together this holiday season it will be a true Christmas miracle! ;-)
I need a banister.
It has always been gold and silver for me every season but those colours are very cheerful and would be perfect for this doom and gloom festive season. it's oxymoron. isn't it?
I can't wait to start decorating. My daughter's birthday is the 5th, so we always wait to start the Christmas decor until after her party...I already peeked inside of our holiday storage boxes and am so excited. These photos are right up my alley. Lovely inspiration!
I like your home decors, they are really cool....
