Welcome

Welcome Monday. Welcome December. Welcome holiday cheer and madness. I'm trying hard to welcome the new day as I drudge through the morning still recovering from Thanksgiving food coma and travel. A glimmer of hope appeared after seeing these Various Welcomes by Lizzie Ridout. Nothing like lovely and clever text to get your day started.

On Lizzie Ridout's site she provides instructions on creating your own Welcome art:

1. Choose an appropriate doorway or step for your Welcome stencil.
2. Sprinkle chalk dust/cocoa/dust removed from your vacuum cleaner liberally over the surface.
3. Remove stencil carefully to avoid disturbing dust.
4. Observe as people pass over your Welcome, inadvertently destroying one artwork and creating another.

If my front steps weren't - bizarrely - covered in green astroturf, I'd totally do this.

This is truly a great idea! However, I think I like it best with the cocoa or chalk dust.

Mmm... not so sure about the lint idea either but love the creativity of it. Recycling to the n-th degree!

This wouldn't last 3 seconds in my house with a toddler. But what fun to try.

I am not sure what to think of this. I think I like it though. I also really like those red shoes in that first image.
