Be Still

I saw these lovely banners on Treasuring which led me to the website of Joetta Maue. I was instantly attracted to her photographs, embroideries and drawings.

I also love this quote from her statement, "I am not an extraordinary woman. I do not live under extraordinary circumstances. I am a woman who has both flaws and fears and also strengths and hopes. Through the depiction of these characteristics, I invite the viewer to relate to and connect with the work the artist, and the subject of human experience."

I think we can all relate to her work and words.

{thanks for the great link Jessica}

I love her quote! The kitchen table looks so inviting. I can see myself sitting around the table having a cup of tea or coffee as Joetta shares her talent. I'm off to visit her site.

Honesty certainly makes for beautiful art. The message about marriage is so true :)

Beautiful, soothing images and moving words. It's amazing to see that kind of emotional honesty come out in someone's writing AND in their photos. Breathaking!

These are so beautiful ... those rumpled sheets are speaking to me. The temperature is dropping here, and I just want to curl back up in bed.

(and I love the Tornado dress ... I like the smoky colors!)
