Steffen Dam creates luminous glass blocks and panels filled with imaginary plants and sea creatures that are suspended like fossils and scientific specimens. I am awe struck by his impressive glasswork which stimulates the imagination and borders on surreal. I'm still trying to put myself together after finding his exciting work...one word comes to mind...a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Plus, you know my love for natural curiosities. Hands down...Steffen Dam is extremely talented and a true craftsman of glass.
On a side note, I hope you all had a nice and long weekend. The beach was wonderful and I'm sad to be back to busy work mode. I keep wondering when it will end so I can get back to blogging!

Astonishing! I so wish I could see these in person ...
Beautiful! But I always love anything reminiscent of natural curiousities.
These are seriously beautiful. I love that he has invented creatures. I bet they are stunning in natural light.

This work is fabulous! I love the first print--I can't tell if they're mushrooms or jellyfish :)

very cool. :)
what a find! these are beautiful. joannaxo
super cool. these make want to transform a room in my home into a science lab theme with these in the center. would that be creepy? a science lab living room? nah, probably not.
oh wow, oh wow, oh wow! incredible. these are so amazingly cool!
Very cool!! Another fun find!
way cool, and a fellow scandinavian at that. must try to see his work up close sometime.
Love! Especially those jars. I'd take any of these.
I don't know what these pieces are about, they look both botanical and artistic. But I love them. They remind me of specimen jars from a lab. Everyone could use a little more "lab" around the house.
Oh how interesting. I love the shapes and colors.
I LOVE that first one!
Are those jellies in the first one? Too cool!
Very curious!
Wow, what a cool post. Such interesting abstract shapes.
