Say hello to the newest member of my camera collection...a vintage Polaroid 800 Land Camera. I have no clue how to use it, but it sure is pretty and heavy. The camera is in excellent condition and even came with a beautiful case and accessories (again, no idea how to use them).Any Polaroid users out there know anything about using this beast of a camera? I would love to get it working!

ReplyDeletewell, i would google the model and see what comes back. i also have a land camera (although no where near as jazzy as that one) and found that the best way.
but if you know what type of film it takes and you can get hold of it (more difficult) then why not just see what happens? i'm certain that you'd coax something amazing out of her....

ReplyDeletei found the users guide to both of my vintage brownies, (one from the thirties, and one from the fifties) relatively easy online, then just downloaded the pdf. i highly doubt that film would still be available but you can always try. :) what a gem! nicely done.

ReplyDeleteAwesome. I found an early Kodak Instamatic that is like a BRICK and I am awaiting the prints now. What a treasure! You can use Fuji film as well, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe Land list is a great resource for all Polaroid questions. I use it all the time.
ReplyDeleteThis model uses roll film which is no longer made and while you can modify the camera to take pack films, it's touchy and mediocre at best (I've tried with several cameras). You have to have a good working knowledge of camera innards.
It is a beautiful piece architecturally. I'd say your best bet is to appreciate the camera as is and not tear it up to modify it...
I just found the same camera in my parents basement. I wish i had the memories. I am sad I can t click a button to retreive what they have seen. my dad was a wwII vet. I want to know what what he saw threw that lense when he was home safe and sound
