Journal Love

Journal Love

Hello - I hope you had a wonderful weekend! My brief visit to Chicago was fun and I can't wait to share photographs with you. During my trip I also thought about journals and my goal to write down daily thoughts and ideas. I have bad habit of having a journal and then forgetting to write in it! To jump start my journaling I need a good journal of course. Here are a couple of my favorites so far:

1. Keel's Simple Diary ($15). This journal is at the top of my list because it's an easy way to record life's moments with fun and intriguing fill-in-the-blank and multiple choice questions. Perfect for sporadic thoughts and ideas (and it comes in six cute colors).

2. Giant Vintage Fawn Flashcard Scrapbook or Sketchbook ($32). Vintage complete with fun details...it's just too darn cute to pass up.

3. 5 Year Diary ($16). Perfect for everyday thoughts and goals. Each page represents one day across five years...read what you were doing two years ago as you write your new entry.

4. Sukie - Turn Over A New Leaf Notebook ($18). This journal features leaves in a variety of shapes and colors on every page. A great way to write, sketch or save photographs.

Do you keep a daily journal? Got any tips on staying committed to your journal habits?

These are lovely! Wish I did keep a journal... I've tried and failed many a times. I guess blogging is the closest I have come to succeeding!

Hi! I love the idea of the first one. I just checked out the website and am so glad you introduced me to Philipp Keel. I'm also interested in his other book, All About Me.

I'm sporadic with keeping a journal. I do think that if I had a lovely book like one of these I'd feel more motivated to take it out regularly!

These journals are fabulous! Thanks for sharing them.

One thing I do to keep up with journaling is to put a scrapbook calendar page on my fridge and write little snippets in the squares when someone says something funny or to record an event.

I did this for both of my girls for their first month of Kindergarten and it's so fun to read them and giggle about the funny things they said or did back then.

Having it on the fridge is a good reminder and it only takes a sec. to fill in the little square.

I absolutely love Keel's Simple Diary! I got one this summer, and it's perfect for me, since I usually find it hard to journal. It asks me the questions.

Here's one of the pages (that I have filled out):
