Vintage paint-by-numbers. They are part kitsch, part fun and even part borderline crazy. But, when you put a bunch of them together they make a pretty neat display wall. I was originally inspired by the paint-by-numbers wall in Dan's house featured on OK Great, and then I found other interesting wall arrangements on Flickr. To make your own paint-by-numbers wall check out eBay, Etsy store moxiethrift or keep a look at during your next fleamarket trip.
What do you think? Would you start a vintage paint-by-numbers wall?

New Obsession
Some of my favorites from the gallery included elegant and beautiful vase drawings, floral sketches and butterfly specimen prints. Aren't they fantastic? The inspiration seems endless and might be my new obsession!

Love for Feet

Hello...how was your weekend? I did lots of relaxing and trying to be un-sick - thanks for all the nice comments! I'm excited to start this week off with these lovely illustrations by Jen Oaks. They make me very happy especially since I've recently been all about feet.
Why the foot fetish? Well, I signed up for Susannah Conway's creative online photography course called Unravelling: Ways Of Seeing My Self. If you are interested the next class opens up May 4th - check it out here. This past week's assignment was to photograph your feet (more of that to come!). As weird as it may sound I've been viewing feet in a whole new light. How we treat our feet, where our feet take us, and giving back to our feet. Our feet do so much, which makes seeing them in pretty patterned tights even better!

Flirty Spring

Happy Friday! Another sick day for me, but that doesn't stop me from blogging and diggin' these hot fashions from BB Dakota. I love the bright colors and flirty silhouettes. And did you notice the cute hairstyle in the first picture? Or the adorable sailboat necklace?! Yeah...I like it too.
Check out BB Dakota for nearby store locations. Caution - there is music on their website which may be loud and even make you dance.
I hope to recover soon (very soon), but for now I sit and watch Hulu while tissues pile up next to my bed. Happy Weekend!

Found Vintage Style

Loving these vintage finds available at Found Vintage Style. I like the silver plated cream & sugar set used as vases. They are classic, yet not too fancy. Wouldn't they be a nice touch on a mantel or desk?
Sorry to be brief, but I'm feeling sickly today. Everyone is sick at work and I am a magnet to other people's sickness. I am NOT down with O.P.S. (other people's sickness). Ok, the cough medicine must really be kicking in now because I'm referencing an early 90's song from Naughty by Nature.
OH...but big news...IKEA comes to North Carolina! Apparently there was lots of freaking out, hours of waiting and even people camping out for sales. This is HUGE for us. I can't wait to go and buy cheap bookcases. Recession...what?
I'll be back in the groove soon...what's up on your end of the world?

A Sense of Place
"These photographs were taken on a March afternoon in the library, living room and kitchen of Southern Writer Eudora Welty's home, which she lived in until her death."
"Flannery, a devout Catholic, raised peacocks on her Georgia farm. Peacocks are symbolic of the resurrection, a fact that surely did not escape the allegorically minded O'Connor."
"This is the desk where William Faulkner typed out his Nobel prize winning novels, complete with a tin of his pipe tobacco, My Mixture, at his side, and his golf clubs stowed in the corner."
"This is the phone that William Faulkner was summoned to while working in the fields, to learn the news that he had won the Nobel Prize for Literature. The writing above the phone is Faulkner's informal address book, preserved in his own handwriting." The poetic photographs provide a peek into these author's intimate spaces, almost like seeing a piece of their history. In each photograph I can imagine them cooking, writing and contemplating ideas. I also think of my good friend Allison, a Southern Literature major with passion and talent. I dedicate this post to you, Allison - to keep you inspired and motivated during long, writing endevours.
Purchase these and more wonderful prints at Susana's Etsy shop and view other stunning photographs at her website. Definitely worth a look!

Wendy Chidester

Paintings of vintage cameras, adding machines and typewriters - what more could you ask for? Utah artist Wendy Chidester says, “I love to wander through antique shops and junk yards looking for old, worn objects to inspire me to paint. Things that most people pass by as junk make great subject matter for my paintings."
I love Chidester's work and I completely understand her desire to paint new life into these objects. Her paintings are very inspiring, especially since I've also been interested in painting some of my antique finds. I think we would be great antique buddies, and I would love to learn a thing or two about her amazing painting skills!
Check out more of Chidester's work here!

Can't Get Enough Of
Hello Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Did you get President's Day off? If so, can I have your job? Ahh I kid, but I am with you in spirit...wishing I was in bed...drinking Chai tea...even working on the blog. But, nope...I'm here at work. At least I can share with you a recently discovered blog called Keltainen Talo Rannalla (In English means A Yellow House by the Sea). This new daily read is packed with inspiring interior selections and great featured items. Plus, I can't get enough of the exposure to foreign trends and magazines that I wouldn't normally find in North Carolina. Check out some of my favorites above and the accompanying links below.
