Frosting Shots

Frosting...isn't that the best part of a cupcake? The latest trend to hit bakeries is frosting shots. Instead of the calorie content of a whole cupcake you can satisfy your sweet craving with a shot of frosting. The delectable shots are presented in paper cups or shot glasses and cost about 75 cents to $1.50 each. Can I please have three...or would that defeat the purpose?

I think it's a great idea for a sweet snack, and a fun way for bakeries to try out new frosting flavors. What do you think - will you be serving frosting shots at your next party?

When making any kind of cake I usually always make too much frosting on purpose, just so I can eat it afterwards!

as long as it's real butter-cream and not some ghastly margering or lard-based icing... and i'd rather not have something so neon that it's going to stain my lips!

Well, I have to say that the cake part is actually my favorite part! I like very little frosting, but the idea is fun and I'm sure there will be lots of fans out there for this one.

Yummmm! Frosting is the best part. I wonder if you can upgrade from a shot size to a full cup though?!

My name is Stephanie, and I am a frosting addict.

I am hoping/fearing that a bakery like this will move within a 50 mile radius of my home.

Now, you must excuse me, I have to go make some frosting!

well, when i was a kid, my mom would buy the icing in a can. i would eat some with a spoon and that wasn't nearly as good as what you've go there. i love icing and my dentist loves the boat i probably bought for him from all the cavities. love those icing shots. happy weekend!

Yes, it looks good, but where's the chocolate? I always eat the frosting out of those little Duncan Hines tubs. Give me one of those shots and I'll be a happy woman!

YUM! The frosting is my favorite part, I usually eat all the frosting and then throw away the cake.

Holy crap, I've been talking about this for years! I eat cupcakes upside down to save the best part for last. Hands down the best idea since sliced bread and movable type.

I love it! I regularly eat cupcakes with my two little boys, and my youngest and I always eat off the frosting and ditch the cupcake. Great solution - frosting shots.

I'll take a double! I love all the colors! How much fun is this?!

OK, call me weird...but I don't like frosting! Cake, yes. And a TINY bit of frosting, sure. But too much actually makes me a little queasy.

With that said...I know there are a lot of frosting fanatics and this seems like a fun and unique idea! And...I love how pretty they look!

My mouth is watering!

YUM! YUM! i'm making mini cupcakes right now. i may have to skip the cake and go directly for the frosting... as long as it's buttercream, that is :)
