For some reason being a textile designer automatically makes you appreciate the oddities formed from woven/knit fabrics, or a fun re-make of everyday textile objects like buttons. Above are two great examples - the button like tables called the Twine Tables by Henrik Bonnevier (via Apartment Therapy), and these In the Round (stitch) chairs (via DesignSpotter).
The chairs are impressive since they made using the same technique as knitting sleeves or socks. In order to upholster a chair completely with only one knit sleeve, the tubular steel frame had to be formed in one continuous line that closes in a loop. From a design perspective, that seems complicated, but yields wonderful results.
