Vintage Find Sunday

This Sunday I would like to share with you one of my personal treasures. I give credit to my Mom for finding this incredibly priced slipper chair at a yard sale. One day I would like to get it re-upholstered because the current fabric is worn and stained. But, I love the corduroy feel and yellow color. Plus, I'm a sucker for keeping vintage finds in their original form. Know of any sources for new, yellow corduroy fabric? Besides the fabric and sleek curves of the back legs, there is something more I love about this chair...like a hidden story. Maybe I'm reading too much into a chair, but when the sun hits it just right, I swear it's like watching an old movie.
A slipper chair is classified as an upholstered chair with a low seat and a high back. From what I understand, they used to be placed in bedrooms and vanity areas for women to put on slippers, thus the low seat and giving the chair its name. Current slipper chairs have come a long way with modern looks, patterned fabrics, and versatility in the home. Below are modern interpretations of the slipper chair. If you like the vintage look there are several available on ebay. Till next Sunday, happy hunting.
Custom Megan Slipper Chair by JCPenny, Brentwood Chair by William Haines, Hanover Slipper Chair by Ballard Designs

Love your vintage chair. I have two great chairs that need upholstering but I can't commit myself to a fabric.

Thanks! I know - fabric can be the hardest thing to find, but I guess it is never too permanent. Good luck!
