At the Raleigh Fleamarket

This weekend my Mom and I visited the Raleigh, N.C. fleamarket. Even though it was a cloudy morning, the vendors and buyers slowly packed into the fairgrounds. I purchased an exciting find that I will share with you later today for my Vintage Find Sunday post. I have to get it all cleaned up and pretty! In the meantime, here are some other neat objects hanging out at the fleamarket.

From top to bottom: Two metal chairs perfect for outdoor seating. Green, heavy, cast iron piggy bank. Bright, cool colored guitar. And two antique white end tables great for a shabby chic room.

I like the white end tables, they'd be really fun in a different color like red or teal...or just as white!

Those chairs?! WOW! I would do some serious damage here...

By the way, do you get any grief taking photos at flea markets? I read Holly from Decor8's recent post on her trip to Brimfield and wasn't sure if you encountered similiar problems.

I also read her post and thought twice about fleamarket photography. I have not encountered any grief from taking pictures, but I try to do it very fast and spy like. That is probably not the most ethic or best way to go about it, but I proudly display my camera around my neck. So vendors know I am taking pictures, and if it happens to be of their stuff they are proud and excited. I think if a vendor has a problem with it they should visibly display a "no photography" sign. In the Decor8 post many people mentioned that you should approach the vendor, tell them your story, and ask if you can take photos. I agree to an extent, but I know how energy draining that can be versus just getting a quick photo. I'm a little torn on the topic, but will continue taking photographs and I have no problem with deleting photos that vendors don't approve of.

The end tables are so cute- it's as if they are ready to walk home :) Great looking guitar too.

Thanks for the follow-up! I agree with having a "No photography" sign if they don't want pictures taken of their booth. Especially today, when blogging has exploded.

I guess I don't really get why flea market vendors would ever have an issue with photographs. Unlike an artist, crafters, or designers, it's not like someone could potentially copy their work. I'd be curious to hear what their viewpoint is.
