Glass with a Natural Twist

Union Street Glass is a contemporary glass studio that creates innovative design concepts using old world glassblowing techniques. The studio, located in Richmond, CA, is run by designer Guy Corrie, who works with a small team of skilled artists to create home accessories, lamps, and light fixtures. Together they produce about thirty, hand-made pieces per day. I'm amazed by the studio's commitment to quality and passion for promoting the art of glass blowing.

Below is a selection of their glass light fixtures called Morph, Aptos, and Urchin. The shapes are so lovely and organic.

They also make an interesting array of vases and bowls - the colors are beautiful!

Glass is such an interesting medium. Wish I knew how to crank up a blow torch and make something beautiful like these!
