This yard sale season I'm on the lookout for several different items. If I find them...I will be ecstatic...and if not, I know the hunt will continue. Here are some of my wish list vintage finds:
I. SPORTS MEMORABILIA: Vintage sport goods inject color and evoke playfulness in any interior space.
1. Vintage Large Bowling Pin via blue bell bazaar. 2. Vintage Pool Balls via White Elephant Vintage. 3. Old English Game Board via blue bell bazaar. 4. Sport Team Pennants via Three Potato Four. 5. Vintage Horse Show Ribbons via ebay seller bono2003.
II. OVER-SIZED NUMBERS: Which include old gas station signs or any type of large number.
III. VINTAGE FLASH CARDS: I love the uniqueness of large, vintage alphabet and mathematical flash cards.
1. 1950's Royal Typewriter via Three Potato Four. 2. Vintage Movie Projector via ebay seller turtle2403. 3. Metal birdcage and hanging scale from Abi and Dave's house tour via Design*Sponge.
The list is long for hopeful vintage finds, but they are items I can purchase over time. You may wonder why I don't just buy some of these items online. Well, I like the thrill of the hunt and finding my own interpretation of these products. I know they are out there...it is just a matter of discovering them! What vintage items are you craving this summer?

What a fun summer of hunting and gathering! Right now I am trying to get things OUT of my house rather than to bring more in. That is just the season of life for me, we are stuffed to the brim! My daughter is moving out at the end of the summer after she gets married so no more returning home with loads of stuff on summer break! Once we get her out I might have more breathing room for well, more stuff!
Love all the things you are looking for! It will be fun to be on the lookout! Great idea on the vintage flash cards!
Happy day,
Melissa
I love all the items you are on the hunt for, but that type writer makes me weak in the knees! I. want. it.
The last few years, I've been on the lookout for vintage frames. I have stockpiled a few, but have no idea what to do with them!
Melissa - sounds like you have another nesting time coming! Good luck with the new room.
Krissy - I love vintage frames too. There are many great things you can do with old frames - hang them, put them in a basket, frame prints - excited to see what you come up with!
Awesome, awesome treasures to hunt for. We just bought an old antique shoe rack that I'm going to use in our office for my crafting/paper goods...what sold me were the metal wheels. I've got a total love right now for industrial finds, too!
Eek! Amen on the oversized numbers! :)
I love all of that! But especially the oversize numbers/letters (have yet to see any of these about) and the croquet balls. I have horse show ribbons from when I was younger, but they are stashed away in the cedar chest.
Shoe rack sounds fantastic! Yes - the numbers are great!
Can I come yard sale shopping with you? Please?!!
Jude - OF COURSE!! Come on down to NC! I would love to find some of these pieces.
this is great...it makes me realize that i've had my own mental list of items to hunt for without even knowing it.
great idea making a photo list of them!
Good luck with the hunting. I love the thrill of the chase too, I just need to find something appeals to me enough to collect it. I keep thinking that one of these days I will get out early some Saturday morning but alas has still yet to happen.
I like the bird cage...I thought I'd start collecting them but i only have 2 & already I don't know where to put them! Maybe I won't now...they're still fun to look at!
I was just thinking today that I'd love a vintage bowling pin to display alongside some vintage alphabet wooden blocks!
Thanks for these great ideas!
Fanstastic finds! I love the old typewriter, bowling pins, the over-sized numbers...you really did some hunting! Thanks for all the great resources.
I love the bird cage and scale. I would love to find either!
I love those flashcards!!!! You find some great stuff!
