On Saturday I went to the Raleigh, N.C. fleamarket, and found quite a gem - this vintage movie projector. A projector was on my list of summer finds...so you can imagine my excitement when I found it. Or should I say when it found me? Sounds weird, but I feel like certain items connect with me and somehow we find each other in this crazy world. Maybe I can become the vintage find whisperer...watch out dog whisperer! Oh to dream.I call this projector set-up "The Graduate." Images starting popping into my head of my university graduation hat...the projector...DVDs...and then I found my old high school patches. Ah-ha! I realized together these objects illustrated the progression, or graduation, of the technology we have used to watch movies. I wish I had more DVD and VHS movies for the photo, but luckily had a video iPod to top it off. Isn't it amazing how far we've come?

You out-did yourself this time.

ReplyDeleteHow cool is this?!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThat movie projector, wow what a great find!
ReplyDeleteoh, I've been thinking about looking for one, too! But I wish there was some way to project our dvds. I just have this image of a bare room with just a rug, and everyone sitting around with the huge projection on the wall.

ReplyDeletea nice blend of the contemporary and the antique. most intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThanks - oh how wonderful to hook it up to your DVDs! I wasn't planning to use the projector because some parts are missing (like the plug!). I think it might cost $$ to get fixed...purely a decorative purchase!
