Cruel Sea Prints
I'm not a "Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for Me" kind of gal, but I do love these Cruel Sea Prints available at Little Paper Planes. They are gocco screenprints on a vintage book page - such a neat idea. Once again gocco amazes me. Collect all three lovely designs for $20 each here.

Yup, Gocco amazes me too, and these are splendid. Love the old book pages as the base for these prints!
The book pages are brilliant, even though I'm not big on the seafaring prints I love the idea of using text as a background.
Those do bring out a little Arrr...
I think they are very charming. Love the vintage book page as well. Oh such a great choice.
I agree Camille - like I said I'm not a big nautical print lover - but I really like the idea of gocco on book pages.
they remind me of drawings an artistic sailor/pirate might make on the high seas, matey!
love these! and what a clever idea to use vintage book pages as a "canvas." great find!
Only 20 bucks? That's an incredible price :) *whoosh* there I go, off to buy more goodies!
I do love prints on text. These are really lovely ... and I love that the book matches the imagery. Great find!
arrrrrgh matey--these are fantastic--you have such an excellent eye! i want that anchor and knots and i'm going over there right now...
uhhh...bought it...it is a perfect gift to give to my best friend...THANK YOU!! xoxoxox!
I love anything nautical, great find!
Oh and I wanted to tell you that I loved your "Cell" resin piece! Very cool! :D
I *totally* dig them. The designs look like old sailor tattoos to me. Books & tats? Sign me up . ;-) (I know nautical's not for everyone, but I can get away with at the shorehouse...and I think I'm about to...)
neato, I like the tied knots!
thanks so much for posting the Treatzone prints from little paper planes! xoxo,
As a coastal-living girl, I just LOVE these. Off to check out the store...I swore I wouldn't buy anything today!!
I agree with Camille, the text is a great idea for a background. My grandfather would have loved these. Thanks for sharing!
These are so nice. It makes me want to make a room in my apartment nautical themed just so that I can buy them!
Or I guess I could anyways. :)
There's something very unique and lovely about these pieces that I adore!
thanks so much for posting our prints, diana, and thanks to everyone for their kind words! (and of course thanks to kelly and lpp as well!!)
I like them. Its like you've been looking through a book and come across someone's little doodles or sketches.
These are SO AWESOME. I'm not a pirate fiend either, but I'm digging the nautical look these days. I love that they're printed on pages from old books. So great.
I like these.. probably the book page look of the background.... and I am in full pirate mode after my little pirate and fairy party.. it was fun!
And those eggs are gorgeous and the wall paper .. I must be really tired because it took me awhile to see actually see the objects!
Happy Weekend!
Gocco amazes me also! I've seen so many wonderful gocco pieces around. Some really talented gocco print folk out there! Thanks for sharing these. They're lovely.
Gorgeous and so clever - so inexpensive and would awesome all framed together!
These are great -- pretty much drawn to anything nautical.
These prints are nifty- what a creative idea! I bookmarked Little Paper Planes...
