Ok, you've seen the inside and the vintage finds, but I saved the best part of The Candy Factory for last. Along the walls was a variety of vintage marketing material, which was used to sell ties, scissors, combs, and peerless goggles (wtf?). All of the pieces are original, but unfortunately not for sale...or else I would have snatched up those pocket combs. Aren't the colors great?! The boxes above the piano is the music for the piano...not sure how it works, but still looks neat.
After seeing these rare pieces marketing just doesn't seem quite the same anymore.

Yah for a time when things weren't overpackaged. You saw what you needed and took it down and either the display was refilled or the paper burned. Why, oh why, did it change?
Ah, yes, sweet stuff here today! I hate today's packages and all that horrid plastic protection everything comes in. Love the more simple days!

i love vintage marketing and ads. my fvourite ones are the old school matchboxes that look like they're edwardian or something.

Aaaaah, the combs! And the bowties! I love the cards on which they are displayed - I have some old vintage buttons that are still attached to the original backing - I can't bring myself to detach and use them!
Something very charming about lots of the same items displayed together...like those combs and scissors.
If it's a player piano, the music is fed into the piano, the piano reads the cut out pattern in the tin.....I think it's tin that was used.
Love the peerless goggles....that's funny. Nice find.
the only time i see these stuff are at very old mini market in small town..but looks cute and cool anyway :)

My father has a player piano like that. Inside the boxes are rolls of music with little notches cut out in patterns. You load up the rolls inside that little door on the front of the piano and the piano reads the little notches and plays the music. SOO much fun!!
