Clever Display Idea

Did you see this in the new Pottery Barn catalog? Ok, so the dark wood, traditional look is not my style, but I LOVE the use of vintage glass bottles to display enlarged old photos. I'm spinning over this versatile idea and can see it used in a store display or modern setting. So clever right?!

I just got the catalog and was too busy looking at the halloween stuff. I love the idea of the photos in the bottles...how clever!

I've got a bunch of old mason jars that I do this with - but great idea about making copies of the photos. That way the originals stay nice and flat :)

WONDERFUL idea! I wonder if it's tricky to position the photos in the bottles?

It's a great idea, it helps that the shapes are so great too.

hahaha, i'm glad to see i'm not the only one that didn't notice the photos in the bottles (great idea, by the way!)

Totally clever. PB's new set stylist has it going on.

I have a theory that he/she sets the Hollywood Regency stuff in a hideous manner because he/she hates it. I mean the rest of the collection looks pretty great.

I've always loved their catalogues for the layouts & ideas more than the furniture (too much MDMF for my taste.)

Oh I love this! Reminds me of something similar I saw on decor8 a while ago: http://decor8blog.com/2007/12/17/memories-contained-diy/

Love. It. And I'm a dark wood kinda gal so this works perfect pour moi as-is. I, too, am loving the b & w photos rolled up in the bottles. So darn clever those PB stylists!

so clever! I love how they look with the dark wood {which we have too much of in our house}, but how fantastic with a more modern space!

I LOVE the photos in the glass bottles! I have to say the dark or natural wood is my style! (Although, the furniture piece itself - not so much my taste.)
Such a cool idea!

clever indeed with dark wood/could be boring unit turned into something very chic.

Great idea. I'm thinking you could probably get two in each bottle (one at the front and one at the back) so you could just turn them round to change the photo. Probably easier than fishing the photos out of those narrow necks!

Glad you enjoyed - I think the best way to get them in there is to roll them up to fit in the bottle hole and then they will expand in the bottle.

I LOVE this idea! Though I wonder how hard it would be to get them out once they're in there! Ha......and I have to say, I'm totally a Pottery Barn style type of girl...I know it's so traditional and expected at times, but I can't help myself! :)
