The Drive Home

Last weekend I went on a little beach trip with my Mom, sister and adorable four year old nephew. On the way home we stopped at The Poor Man's produce stand and a nearby cotton field. As we jumped out of the car for fresh veggies and photo opps my nephew said, "well, where's the rich man?" His reasoning made sense - if this is the poor man's produce, where's the rich man's produce? We all had a good laugh including the owner.

The cotton field was a delight to explore, especially for my nephew. You'll be seeing more of him later. I couldn't resist photographing his cuteness!

so cute - I love to get glimpses into the thought processes of kids :)

My grandparents grew cotton in Texas; your photos make me nostalgic.

I love the shot of the jarred peppers.

He's so cute! That is one big sweet potato. ☺

Cotton is a big commodity in South Georgia, and on drives to and from Orlando I'll always look out at the fields and marvel how all those specks of white will be morphed into something entirely different.

Great pictures! And such a cute kid... looks like a good time was had by all.

I grew up next to cotton fields and it was always miraculous when they finally burst forth with their fluffy goodness.

I've never had the lucky opportunity to feel and see cotton in its organic state, and the farm fresh veggies, pickled peppers... can you send me some to Tokyo??? hehe

It looks like fall, I wish the weather here would be more fall like.. it has been 23-25c 75-85 sounds cool but the SUN in Japan is SOOO strong, hot, no wonder I use a sun umbrella...

Thank you for sharing your trip with us!

That is a big momma sweet potato. And I really hope you bought a bag of those peanuts ... the Poor Man needs the dough.

Gorgeous, evocative images.

Nope - couldn't buy the cotton! Plus I think there might be some bugs in it - so you have to watch out!
