Happy Holidays!

Are you unwrapping good times and eating lots of holiday pie? Get another dose of cheer with these cute and funny vintage holiday photos from fellow readers and bloggers. Thanks again to all who participated - you guys are great! I would also like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! Thank you for the amazing year and I look forward to sharing another inspiring year with you in 2009. Enjoy...

Aww...look at that hat and those dolls! Here's little Cindy from Quaint Handmade.

Love your coat Laura from bellwether days! Although she says, "I may have not always loved the gifts I got (such as this furry itchy coat), but I always loved our family's tradition of homemade rice pudding on Christmas Eve. One pudding had an almond hidden inside, and whoever had it got to open a present early."

Fifi from Fifi Flowers Design Decor sent a lovely photo of her boys when they were younger during Christmas time!

Ann from Still Dottie says, "We're a Christmas Eve kind of family. We usually cozy up after a big meal to open gifts and watch Christmas Vacation. Towards the end of the night I usually end up eating ten of my Mom's sour cream cookies during a cribbage or uecker game."

Every Christmas Anne from The City Sage and her husband do a photo shoot designed to get their friends and family laughing, and then put them in cheesy cards and mail them to all their loved ones!

April, also known as Girl Japan, says her Christmas tradition was making yummy cookies with Mum and nibbling along the way, while singing to Holiday tunes and stealing sips of Egg Nog (the real one)!

Kelly from Have Degree, Will Travel says her tradition is, "every year my parents, brother and I take an evening and watch A Muppet Family Christmas and read A Night Before Christmas. My punk little brother, who'll be 21 in May, throws an absolute fit if one of us happens to forget."

Little Traci, also know as Mrs. French, from the wonderful blog Bliss!

Jan from Daisy Janie has a fun tradition where her son makes what he dubbed “Wowie Bowie” gorp for his grandparents/aunts/uncles since he was a toddler. She says, "He picks out the ingredients, mixes it and bags it. He makes a holiday picture that I add to little tags for the bags. Everyone looks forward to it each year – and he loves doing it!"

Adorable Summer from Source of Winsome!

Here's Alison from For You To See at her first Christmas back in 1986. She says, "I was about 3 months old and couldn't sit up by myself. However my parents still wanted a picture of me with the tree, and you can see my Mom's arm sticking out from the side of the train to prop me up. I look a little witless and quite similar to the piglet doll next to me."

Go back to Christmas 1971 with Lecia from A Day That Is Dessert. Here she is at age 2 with a lovely coat made by her Grandmother. How sweet and fashionable!

Love this vintage photo of Georgia's dad when he was a wee tot. Georgia from Jorjah-B says, "My mom and dad's favorite Christmas tradition while he was still here was to listen to Handel's Messiah from beginning to end in one sitting. They did it every year and were moved to tears every time. Now my mom must listen alone, but I know she feels my dad right there with her when she listens." Georgia also has her own tradition to get bundled up and go sledding as a family of seven - which is another reason she chose this snowy pic.

December 1984 with Milena from Quiet the Thunder!

I had to post these two great photos from Jude at Randomly Run4istRun. The first one is of Jude at six years old when she says, "my Mother was still very much in control of the length of my hair and wardrobe selections." The next hilarious one is of Jude's daughter. Jude remembers, "going to her daycare facility that day, as the kids were putting on a Christmas presentation (of course she was one of the reindeer) and I found her there in the bathroom. She gave me the sweetest smile ever and I couldn't resist taking a picture." How cute and funny!

Here's Stella from Travel with Mind and Body through World at 2 years old watching a Nativity in Italy, which she now does every year with her family!

Jessica from Wayfaring Wanderer. Look at that cute little outfit!

Gretchen, from Gypsy Sky, and her sister singing on Christmas Eve. She even made a card out of the photo!

Veronica from veronica's corner "freaking out" on top of Santa's lap at a young age. Poor thing!

Cute Jodi from sea & jae at about 2 ½ in this photo. She says, "I have always kept it because I loved that wooden lamb I got from Santa. I loved it so much that I still have it! I plan on giving it to one of my kids when they have children."

Don't cry Courtney from In(side) the Loop! She says, "Nothing beats the wars me and my siblings would have with the old silver tinsel! Did you know you can shock the heck out of someone by holding the tinsel in hand and rubbing your feet (must have on socks) all along the carpet, building up static electricity? Then ever so delicately reach out and touch someone with the tinsel. We were always looking over our shoulders during Christmas festivities!"

Joyce from A Perfect Beginning has a tradition of hiding a pickle ornament in the tree and whoever finds it first wins a special gift!

Christmas 1968 with Victoria from The Silly BooDilly - she's the one in the homemade apron!

I guess a holiday post wouldn't be complete without posting my own vintage holiday photo. Here's my first Christmas photo with Santa in 1982...still makes me smile!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
