There is something quite special about these gouache and pastel prints by Rachell Sumpter. The bright, yet soft colors bring you in and reflects the silent nature of these people and their culture. The images seem perfect for this time of year when winter brings snow and a magical silence to a forest or empty parking lot.
Peace and silence is something I need right about now. Work is hectic and my credit card number was stolen thus tying up my bills and Christmas money. Grrr....why do people do this?! Ok, venting session over...I know other people have it worse. I just wanted to say that stealing credit card numbers is NOT cool. Back to procrastinating and looking at lovely art...

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your credit card! No one should have to worry about that right now. Hope everything gets sorted out soon- thank you for the lovely pictures!
Sorry about your credit card Pleasie. That is not good cheer in jolly times. Love the peace that these images possess. Take care.
nightmare! It is very stressful when that happens. I hope it gets resolved quick and proper!
i've seen her art before! i was drawn to it because it was somewhat folksy which i like.
and agh on credit card#s stolen!!! i swear, these people :( did the banks do anything about it?
I got my whole wallet stolen in September. They got like 2,000 dollars from me in a matter of one hour. SO stupid! I feel ya!!!! One thing to keep in mind Christmas is about spending time with loved ones and celebrating life, so maybe a simple homemade gift would suffice for freinds and family. That is what I am doing because I am still broke from the wallet issue.
Have a better day!

Sorry to hear about your theft woes! I hope it's won't be too much of a nightmare getting the charges contested and hopefully nothing having to come out of your pocket. This time of year, especially. :(
These pieces are so soft and lovely; kind of like walking into a secret place beyond the clouds.
so sorry to hear about the credit card theft!!!! hang in there...

Oh no! I'm so sorry about your credit card. I live in fear of that (not that I'm as careful as I should be). I hope it all gets straightened out quickly.
argh, i feel your pain. my ss# was stolen a few years back and i'm still dealing with problems as a result. so sorry my dear.
oh... this has happened to us twice in the last two years. it's maddening. hope your CC company is cooperative in helping you get it resolved; that can make all the difference in the world.
wow, the middle one is especially intriguing!
Ugh, I went through a CC fraud deal this spring. Never fun :(
eek! so sorry to hear that happened to you!
it's my very first visit to your blog...
gosh...hope it can be addressed...such a nuisance at this time of the year.

Those are beautiful. So sorry to hear about your cc cards. I'm experiencing something similar..not as bad but still annoying. Someone used my name/phone # to take out a loan?! Getting collection agency calls everyday. Blah!!!
