Over the weekend I went to Asheville, North Carolina and I already miss it. The weather was gorgeous, the food was amazing and the antiques were downright fun. We were only there for one night, so we tried to fit in as much as possible!
My taste of Asheville included Antique Tobacco Barn, a huge warehouse filled with vintage goodies. Like the table from an old German bar (priced at $300!), a wooden box previously used for storing explosives (my sister bought it to hold firewood), a white medical cabinet (perfection...if only I had $700), vintage stools, a wooden catalog and retro dinnerware. Another spot with foreign goods was Oddfellows Antique Warehouse, which included finds like the cute scale, German tin canisters and old laundry carts (great for a store display).
We also had a yummy lunch at Early Girl Eatery. I love the color on the windows and the clever use of plants. The plants get sun while providing a bit of shade and decoration. And no trip would be complete without a sweet ending like the cupcakes and cookies at The Sisters McMullen Bakery.
Now you can see why I miss it! I hope you had a fantastic weekend too - see any vintage finds?

I adore Asheville! I went for the first time back in September, and I can't wait to go back! :)
What a fun weekend. There were definitely some great finds there. I especially love the cabinet with all the drawers. I could really use that.
I love those folding German beer hall tables.
Looks like a pretty stellar trip.
I love the table and bench. Heck I like the first 5 items! Did you buy all of this? I can't remember, do you sell the your vintage finds?
I'm glad you had a wonderful weekend. It looked like a great time.
Hope your week is just as golden. xoxox
Fun fun. I have an old wire laundry basket on wheels. I adore it. I didn't get to go out and look for finds this weekend. But I am sure glad you got your fill.
Unfortunately no...didn't buy anything. I wish! Trying to save money for a nice camera so I can hopefully set up a vintage etsy shop soon.

It all looks great, but I love the white cabinet and the idea of putting firewood in the explosives box.
I've got the bench from that set and my sis in law has the rest... if you are lucky enough to go to the ardingly antiques fair in england they sell them for about £60 to £80 a set. I want that white cabinet!
I want that picnic bench! If only I had a yard. No vintage finds for me this weekend, sadly. I didn't make it out.
What fun finds! Great post!
What a fun weekend - I love finding places like that! I could spend all day just perusing antique stores & warehouses. Sounds like you guys did pretty well finding great things!

Looks like a fabulous weekend! I've always fancied one of those chests with so many drawers... I'm convinced the answer to my problem with clutter is just finding the right storage! ;)

How are you? I have never visited Nth. Carolina, it looks lovely. I dated someone from there, that's as close as I got. Well hope all is well, I have missed the blogging dialogue.

i live about 45 minutes away from asheville and head up there whenever i have (lots) of extra money. the thrift and vintage stores are fabulous, the record stores are even better, and rosetta's kitchen is the best vegetarian/vegan food you will ever eat. all of your finds are amazing! i love that card catalog! i've been looking for one for ages! i'm glad you had fun!
I love Asheville and the Early Girl Eatery! That wooden cabinet with the cataloging drawers is so fantastic (and large)!
oooooh, I wanna go there. Great photos, D.
Wow, I went to Early Girl when I visited Asheville six or seven years ago. I'm so glad it's still there, because my meal was AMAZING.
I also remember Asheville had a great independent bookstore. Did that survive?
oh, that wooden cabinet is to die for... and I looove the vintage mugs.
SUCH super cool finds! i love that wooden catalog. short trips like that make me miss the warmer - that's when i normally get out & about, cause freezing rain isn't the best incentive to leave your house!
am I awful.. I scrolled down all the way to the cookie = )
oh the card catalogue... i need it. i love furniture with tons of drawers... lots of places to store things and organize. does it get better than that?
ok that seals the deal! we are finally going to have to take that road trip!
That dresser is screaming for an organizing freak owner like me. Me! I'd buy it and then have Barb from Knack to do as she will with it!
OMG what amazing treasures!! I love the adventures that you share and the fantastic vintage treasures you spot. The apothecary / card catalog is just divine.
I am loven those mugs!!!
ohhh....i love going to asheville (i live in s.c. so i'm coming from the other side) and last weekend the weather was just fabulous for it!! fun, fun!!
I think I need to make a trip to Asheville! I love every one of the vintage finds you photgraphed - I haven't really seen anything like a lot of what you pictured around this area. Glad you had a fun weekend!
Sounds like you had a perfect weekend. I have always wanted to go to Asheville...will bookmark this post for future reference. Wish you could have treated yourself to all those fabulous finds!
Looks like a fun weekend. I love going to Asheville. You should check out Boone as well. :)
Sounds like a GREAT weekend! Love shopping and lunching... is there anything better!
Great finds. I want that card catalogue!
I have been dying for a card catalog! I've been thinking about calling all of the local libraries to see if they still have any and if they will give them away or sell them to me.
dear god - i must have the table in the top photo & the cabinet in the 3rd. no debating, it must be mine.
All of those items are so great. I especially like the wooden catalog--that is definitely by favorite item!! I wish I could have it. And the retro dinnerware is really fun... I actually own a single cup like that. However, it would be nice to have the whole dinnerware set! :D
How did I miss this vintage post?? I'm home....
I am coveting the card catalog drawers
LOVE the wooden catalog! it looks like a chinese medicine cabinet...my cousin and his wife own one and i love it!!
