Flight

Frank Gonzales, an American contemporary artist, creates amazing paintings that explore classical subjects, organic forms and geometrical shapes. I'm especially drawn to his bird paintings with vibrant colors and a sense of movement and flight.

Gonzales says, "I like to construct and deconstruct during the process leaving traces of my journey in the end results. Like life itself, there are elements of uncertainty, dialogue and changes that take place which can be both fascinating and frustrating to me."

As artists and designers we can probably all relate to his statement within our own work. Truly inspiring!

gorgeous. to have on of these in your home would be spring every day! i'll have to check him out. i'm drawn to that first one with the robin's egg blue background. i love that color, so clean and crisp.

Fantastic. The first is my favorite - that blue background makes the bird seem super friendly somehow.

I really like these. The different textures. And it feels like bits of the painting are flying off, like the birds should be too.

Sometimes it is very hard to articulate something you do, but he has really captured it in his words and art.

These are so gorgeous! I like the last one in particular, it looks like the bird is about to break out into an amazing cubist/pointillist hybrid. Love!
