Liberty Part 5: Favorites

Drum roll please! I saved the best for last - my favorite vintage finds at the Liberty, N.C. Antique Festival. Earlier I posted a store display piece, well turns they get even better...yeah, can you believe it? I absolutely, undeniably loved this first piece - a seed cabinet from a rural general store used to store and showcase planting seeds. The jars, the colored cabinets...pure and simple JOY. The other piece is a general store counter used to store and collect dry goods. The photo actually shows the back of the counter where the cashier would scoop out goods. The other side was constructed of a handcrafted panel of fine wood. Hello, kitchen island anyone? These AMAZING pieces were priced at $1800 each. Sounds like a handful, but considering the price of new cabinets or large furniture pieces...I would say that's a steal. Again, not enough money or space on my end...or else I would have snatched these up in a heartbeat!

The same dealer had another interesting and quirky find - a key collection wall. Rows and rows of vintage keys mounted on a tall and wide piece of wood. Wouldn't this make a neat wall art display? Please Sir...I LOVE it!

This concludes the wonderful tour of the Liberty Antique Festival. I'll also post a small collection of sorts I purchased at the show. I didn't get much (even though I wanted it all!) but the experience and inspiration is always worth a visit. I'm glad I got the opportunity to share this journey with you and I hope you feel full of vintage goodness.

Missed the tour? Check out vintage accessories, furniture, kitchen items, and decorating ideas.

That seed cabinet is to die for. Why can't we still buy stuff like that? I mean, why can't we go in and have a store keeper take a big jar off a shelf and measure out just what we need. I hate having to buy packaged bits and bobs and have leftovers, or not enough. I adore health food stores where you can still buy in bulk, but there are so few around.

Yeah baby! That is what I'm talking about! True treasures only found at a flea market. How much to send every seed jar to the middle east?

I have just finished reading all 5 parts and I am so jealously happy you got to go!! Such treasures!!
Are you like me, another Taurus, and keep going back and forth between items, not able to make up your mind while at the same time you fall passionately in love with one and can't stop thinking about it?!!
I am doing the show next year...not that far from us!

Those jars and seed packets are so fantastic!!!

You are right- it does get better! I would now happily take either store display piece, as well as (and perhaps most especially) the general store counter!

Throw in a key collection, some vintage fans, the bike, and the typewriter, and I would be one very happy girl :) I love antiquing- thanks for sharing all these amazing finds. Oh- and fingers crossed for winning the lottery ;)

OK, I went through all five parts and reserved my comments to one single thread. My absolute most to die for item was the Mr. Big bread sign...we adore antique and vintage signs in this house. But then I saw the seed jars (oh my god!) and those keys (oh my god) and all I can say is LUCKY LUCKY you for getting to go, and lucky us for enjoying it through your blog. THanks!

I love the cabinets, they're so unique and so incredibly functional. I'd love one of those in my own house. And the keys! I have a thing for keys, always wanted to make a necklace out of one. It's really neat seeing them all on one wall together.
