Beach Eats

Thank you for all the wonderful comments when I headed out to the beach on Friday. I promised photographs, unfortunately the weekend was so busy (and a bit rainy) I wasn't able to get many pictures. Luckily, we ate some great, beautiful food that made up for it!

Fresh peeled shrimp, lots of beer, and fresh clams with garlic butter sauce. Since there was 15 people in one house the eating arrangements were casual. A large bowl of clams and barbecued shrimp was put in the middle of a high table, and we all stood around chatting and opening clams. This is a great way to serve a vacation meal, especially for children and guests. I thought the setting was inviting and communal, and I tried to capture those warm feelings.

diana - reading this post took me straight back to when I used to go to the beach with my family. My step mom would always cook a huge pot of clams and we'd eat them with spaghetti and butter and it was the perfect beachy meal. yummm.
